I've got sunshine....on a cloudy day....when it's cold outside...I've got the month of May...

Hey, y'all! How's your week going? Mine is great, just kind of crazy, as usual! We got the boys signed up for baseball this week...which should be interesting. Caleb has played soccer, but Cole has never played any organized sports, so it should be very entertaining. Luckily the fall season is mostly instructional. *chuckle*

Anywho, I had a few minutes this morning and made this card for this week's Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast. I had this image colored, cut and matted, so I changed the main image to an oval instead of a rectangle.

And yes, I used another one of the Lulu images from Stamping Bella. This one's Emma Lulu. I stamped her in Memento Black ink on Bella's Bestest Paper, then colored her with Copics. I used my Oval Nestibilities to cut and emboss the main image and layers. Then I cut a 5" square of my white cardstock, matted it with black, and added the Marigold panel embossed with the Paisley embossing folder. I pierced a little triangle in the bottom right corner and then tied some black grosgrain ribbon in a bow around the base before popping the main image up on pop dots. The Fantabulous Day sentiment was stamped in the bottom left corner, and to finish the card off, as always, I added some Diamond Stickles to Emma's dress and flowers.

Hey, blog world, what's up? I just have a quick second before work, so I wanted to pop in and say hi, and show you this card that I made this morning. I used yesterday's SCS Sketch Challenge, which I think is a really fun layout!

Isn't Little Witchy the cutest? She is colored with Copic Markers on Bella's Bestest Paper. I embossed the Apricot triangle with the Swiss Dots embossing folder, then sponged over the edges and the dots with Tangerine ink. The striped paper is from Bo Bunny, which is where my color inspiration came from, and the border punch is the Scallop Dot from Martha Stewart. I stamped the word Spoooooooky, then hand-wrote the words "have a" and "day" to create a fun sentiment. Hope you likey!

Happy Thursday, everyone! What are y'all up to? I'm just working like a busy little bee, but wanted to take a second and post my card for this week's Sketch Challenge over on Splitcoast. It was an easy one, with a long rectangle panel, so I decided to color up one of my favorite Bellas...Cakeabella. Isn't she scrummy? (Emily's new word)

Once I stamped her in Memento Black on Bella's Bestest Paper, I chose orange and turquoise for my main colors and colored her with Copic Markers. Then I cut and embossed her with my Mega Rectangle Nestabilities, and decided to try Paula's trick of sponging the edges with Versamagic Wheat ink using a sponge dauber. The ink is so rich, and it gives the image a nice, warm glow, don't you think? I added a Chocolate Chip scalloped mat and some Diamond Stickles to the cake, then set her aside to dry.

Next I took a solid orange sheet from my Basic Grey Marrakech 6x6 pad and matted it with Chocolate Chip for my base layer. I stitched around the edges and then adhered it to my Barely Banana card base. (The stitching was supposed to be straight, but I took Joanne's advice and used the surprise method...aka didn't check my machine and got a surprise when I started stitching! I decided I liked it after all...*wink*) Anywho, then I chose a pattern from the Marrakech collection, as well as a strip of Paisley embossed Tempting Turquoise, for my other panels, matted them with white, and stitched them (straight this time!) to the card base. I didn't really want to add a sentiment panel or strip, so I pulled out my Chocolate Chip marker and hand wrote "Make a Wish" on the main image panel. I kinda like it! To finish off the card, I added three small Light Cocoa Glitter Dots to the top right corner. Whatchathink?

Hey, y'all, Happy Saturday! Anybody doing anything fun today? We're just hanging out...going to meet some family for lunch later and have some Mexican food...YUM! So before I go, I have a card to show you that I made last night. Take a peek:

I refuse to tell you how long it took me to make this card. But it was a VERY long time. I decided to use the Weekend Sketch Challenge #92 as my starting point, and then I chose my image from Stamping Bella. I inked up the grass and flowers with an Always Artichoke and Rose Red markers, then huffed and stamped on Vintage Cream cardstock. I wanted to give my main image a little something extra, so after I cut and embossed it with my Labels One Nestabilities, I sponged the edges with Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip ink. Then I decided to go a step further and use the Cracked Glass Technique to age it a little bit more. Then I hand-cut a Chocolate Chip mat for the image and distressed the edges.

Then I moved to my base layer, where I cut a square from my Artichoke paper from the SU 6x6 Prints Pack, rounded the corners, and distressed the edges. Then I matted it with Vintage Cream and Chocolate Chip, and stitched around the edges with my sewing machine. I pulled out some lace from my stash and wove some ribbon through it for a little oomph and wrapped it around the base layers. Then I adhered the layers to my 5 1/4" card base. The main image is popped up on dimensionals, and I added three Glass Pearl Flatbacks from Stamping Bella to the top right corner.

See, it really wasn't that involved, but SERIOUSLY...it took me forever. Oh well, I had fun! I hope you like it. Have a fabulous Saturday!

You're my sunshine day and night...oh, what a difference you've made in my life...

Happy Monday, peeps!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. The boys had friends over to spend the night last night, and they wore me out! Talk about loud...try four boys ages 9 and 6, plus four dogs and a video game...YIKES! So, needless to say, I hid in my craft room (along with one of the dogs) for most of the afternoon and played. Which was great fun...I haven't had a marathon stamping day in a long time. I went in armed with new goodies and a notebook full of sketches and went to work! So there'll be lots to see here for the next few days.

The first sketch I chose was Fall to Layout #51 from the Clean and Simple blog. This is a blog I stalk each week for layouts and inspiration...love it! Here's my card:

Isn't that a fun sketch? I just got some Jenni Bowlin mini papers, so I decided to use this sheet music pattern from the Tangerine Dream collection. Yummy, no? I cut and embossed the piece with my Labels One Nestabilities and then sponged the edges with Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip ink. I stamped the sentiment from Verve's Because of You set in Versamagic Jumbo Java ink. After I adhered the die cut panel to my 4 1/4" square Soft Sky card base, layed the die on top and pierced around the outside edge, using the die as a template.

To finish off the card, I chose 2 prima flowers and sponged them with Jumbo Java & Sahara Sand Versamagic and sprayed them with Oyster Glimmer Mist. Once they were dry, I added a button from my stash tied with crochet thread and adhered it all down to my card. Super easy and fun!

Hey, y'all, what's up? I hope you're having an awesome weekend. We've spent the day being lazy, except for doing some laundry. It's about to rain here, so hopefully it'll be a little cooler...it's about 93 right now. Blech!

So, I got my new stamps from Stamping Bella on Friday, and I spent a while yesterday coloring them all up...fun! I decided to use Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch for this week...I love her sketches. Here's my card.
I chose Gratty 'tude and her sentiment for this sketch. She was stamped in Memento Black ink and colored with Copic markers. Emily sent me some of the Bella's Bestest paper that Linda and Paula have been raving about, and let me tell you...it's FABULOUS!!! It is sooo smooth and wonderful...I just want to sit and pet it. I'm totally in love!

I used a piece of my Urban Prairie paper from Basic Grey...it seemed to match my color combo the best. I also used my turquoise ribbon garter (from Stamping Bella, but it's out of stock right now) and my new EK Success Dotted Scallop border punch...how cute are those teensy scallops?

Of course I had to add some Diamond Stickles, which works perfectly for Hope's Twisted Bella Challenge from last week. To accent the sentiment, I added a tiny Prima flower with a teensy black pearl from Kaiser Craft. So cute!

Happy Saturday, everybody! What are y'all up to this weekend? We're just kind of being lazy...it's hot outside, and my allergies are too bad in the summer to do anything but stay indoors. Blech!

Yesterday I was impatiently waiting for my Stamping Bella order to be delivered, so I stayed in my craft room (which is right by the front door so I could hear *wink*) and made a cute little card set with some of my Verve Stamps. This idea has been brewing in my head for a few days, and I finally got to finish it. Don't you hate when that happens and you can't find time to sit and finish?

Aren't those cute? (If I do say so myself *wink*) I used last week's Weekend Sketch Challenge from Charmaine, which I thought was perfect to use with my Kindred Spirits set from Verve. I stamped the largest Fleur de lis image in PTI Ocean Tides, Ripe Avocado, and Raspberry Fizz ink three times on Neenah Solar White paper and punched it out with my 1 3/4" circle punch. I then cut pieces of Kraft and Black cardstock for the center panel, and embossed the Kraft with the Swiss Dots embossing folder, then adhered it to the black mat.

To create the bottom portion of the panel, I cut strips of my three colors and stamped the fleur de lis border in a repeated pattern in the same color ink. I then created a scalloped border using my SU Scalloped Edge Punch. The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black, and then I adhered the strip to the bottom of the Kraft panel. I decided to use Score-Tape for this in case the embossing kept the strip from totally sticking down to the panel.

One of the reasons I chose these three colors is because I had matching stitched grosgrain ribbon for all three. I tied the ribbon in a knot around the panels at the very top of the colored strip, and then popped up my three circles on dimensionals along the left side. I then adhered the panels to my white card bases with dimensionals.

Happy Sunday and Mother's Day, peeps! I had a wonderful day today that began with roses and breakfast in bed, then an afternoon with my family. A girl couldn't ask for more! I hope all of you moms had a restful day (even if that means there are messy houses to clean tomorrow!) *wink*

Earlier I needed to create a quick card, so I scanned my saved sketches and found this one from Jen's Sketch for You to Try yesterday. I love it when the hard work is done for me...makes card making much quicker!

I pulled out Verve's Because of You set (sorry, it's temporarily sold out, but coming back soon!) to make this one for Josh's mom. I stamped the flower image in Kiwi Kiss, then removed the ink on the flower image with a blender pen and colored it with my Elegant Eggplant marker, then huffed and stamped. I did the same for the other image using Rose Red. Then I stamped the sentiment in Versamagic Midnight Black, sponged the edges of the panel, and distressed it with my Tonic Distressor Tool. The Rose Red panel was embossed using the Textile Embossing Folder. The edges of the Kraft panel were sponged with Close to Cocoa ink, then I added the 5/8" White Grosgrain ribbon.

Howdy, everyone! What's everyone up to this weekend? I'm up late stamping...got lots to catch up on! I just wanted to show you a card I made earlier with Anna's latest Whipper Snapper release.

I always print sketch challenges and they end up piling up and cluttering my already cluttered room. But this week, I decided to PLAY for once! First up was Amy R's Friday Sketch Challenge, because it most fit my main image panel. The cupcake image is from the What's Cookin' set, and before stamping it, I drew a light pencil line on my watercolor paper to line up the images. I stamped the image three times in Stazon Black and watercolored them with my waterbrush & reinkers. Once they were dry, I added the shadows with Copic markers. I also dotted the cherries with Diamond Glaze and added a little bling to the cupcake wrappers with my Clear Spica Glitter pen. The sentiment is from the same set...I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut & embossed it with the Mega Rectangle Nestabilities. The lace is yummy...I picked it up at The Crafty Scrapper on my last trip there.The rest is pretty self-explainatory...if you have any questions, feel free to ask, but make sure you leave me your email so I can answer you! *grin*

Happy Thursday, friends! Thanks for all the get well wishes...they worked! I'm so happy to be feeling better...I even cleaned my stamp room last night! (maybe I'm still sick...*wink*) Now, don't mistake the word "clean"...My definition is (A) I can put my feet under my desk without having to move things, (B) Empty trash can, (C) Desk organized (ish) and plenty of room to work, and (D) I can walk into the room, to my desk, and to the sewing machine without tripping on various items. So of course, the first thing you have to do in a clean (ish) room? Stamp something! I made 2 cards using my new Ketto stamps from Stamping Bella. I am soooo in love with this new line!

The first card I made was for yesterday's Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast. (Pretend I didn't remove a panel, k?)

I stamped Ivy Ketto in Brilliance Graphite Black on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and colored her with Copic markers. Then I cut and embossed with my Scalloped Square Nestabilities and added a layer of Tempting Turquoise and another Scalloped Square in Chocolate Chip. The card base measures 5 1/4" square. I started with a 5" square of Apricot Appeal, sponged the edges with Close to Cocoa and added a Chocolate Chip layer. After I stitched around the edges, I adhered a strip from my Basic Grey Marrakech 6x6 pad and stitched along the edges as well. To finish it off, I stamped the Hello dear friend sentiment (my new fave!) in Chocolate Chip ink and added 3 small Chestnut Glitter Dots.

For my next card, I dug into my stash of printed sketches that I never did and decided on Mojo Monday 75. I actually followed this one, I just flipped it to work with my image.

I started by stamping Charlotte Ketto in Brilliance Black on Neenah Solar White and colored her with Copics. The color combo was my hubby's idea...isn't it great? After she was colored, I cut and embossed with my Rectangle Nestabilities and sponged around the edges with Close to Cocoa. Now, I'm not going to go step by step on this one, cause it took me FOREVER!!!!! Lots of stitching, lots of layers, more sponging...I think you get the idea. I thought the Thinking of You sentiment was perfect for this one. Whatcha think?

To celebrate, I decided to ink up my new LOVEbeetle Huggabugg. How cute is she???
If I do say so mahself...it's a pretty cute card. *wink* I combined this week's Sketch Challenge and Ways to Use It Challenge, which was to layer your embellishments. Super fun! The image was stamped in Brilliance Graphite Black on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, then colored with Copic Markers. After cutting and embossing with my Rectangle Nestabilities, I mounted the image onto my card base, which measures 5 1/4" square. The Pink Pirouette layer underneath was embossed with the D'Vine Swirls embossing folder, then sponged with Close to Cocoa and stitched to the Chocolate Chip base layer. I also added some of the striped paper from Basic Grey's Bittersweet collection.

On to the embellishments! All three Prima flowers were white to start with. I painted the largest flower with Hottie Pink Shimmerz, the medium one with Pixie Dust (my new fave), and the smallest with Pink Poinsettia. After they dried (I gave them a hefty coat), I added Diamond Ice Baubles to the centers of the 2 smaller flowers, and layered my sentiment and a button onto the large flower, tying it all together with white crochet thread.

THEN (yep, there's more!) I added some Pink crystals to the main image with my new Hot Fix tool. Love that thing!

No drama (no more drama in my life, no ones gonna make me hurt again)...

Hello from Anaheim, CA! I hope you guys aren't missing me too much yet. *wink* So far I have had quite the adventure. I arrived here on Saturday afternoon, met up with Kim and Alma, and went to set up the My Favorite Things booth. After that we had a fun dinner at the Rain Forest Cafe in Downtown Disney...yummy! Back at the hotel later that night I started having some pretty icky pain on my right side, which I figured was just from all the walking and whatnot. Took some tylenol and went to bed. After tossing and turning all night, I couldn't get comfortable and the pain got worse. I got scared that it was appendicitis, so Carolyn and Deb were sweeties and took me to the ER here. After several hours and tests, they confirmed that I have a kidney stone. Lovely, huh? I have never had one before, and hope to never have one again. But I did venture out for dinner last night with Kim, Laura, Em and Nicky, so I must be feeling a little better! If you think about it, say a prayer or send some healthy thoughts my way this week...I'd love that!

So needless to say, I didn't make it to the first day of CHA. Today I spent a little time walking the show, and I took some pics of some fun stuff to share with you! I am quite disappointed that October Afternoon didn't end up showing, though. I was really looking forward to seeing their new lines.

Anywho, I do have a card to show you! I made this last week for the sample board here at the show to highlight the new Spring Digipapers from MFT. I used Cindy's sketch challenge for this week as my jumping off point.
I love how this turned out (if I do say so m'self)! I printed the striped digipaper onto shimmer white cardstock, so it's nice and sparkly.

I want a reason for the way things have to be...I need a hand to help build up some kind of hope inside of me

Good morning, yall! I am aliveeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!! Sorry I haven't posted for the last few days...I've been really sick, but thanks to the wonders of modern medicine I am doing much better.

I did get to stamp yesterday...yipppeee!!! I played along with the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast since it would work perfectly with my new Elzybells.

I stamped the Spreading Peace Angel in Brilliance Graphite Black on Fabriano Hot Press Watercolor Paper. This stuff is soooo smooth and yummy...it's a dream to watercolor on! Anywho, I colored her with my waterbrushes and reinkers and added Stickles to her wings and halo. After I matted the image onto my Brown Prism cardstock, I decided to sponge the edges with Close to Cocoa ink to soften them, and then stitch around the edges with my sewing machine.

A strip of this Basic Grey Figgy Pudding paper was hiding in my ginormous stack of patterned paper, and it matched my colors perfectly! So I matted it with brown, and then with a strip of red (sponged with Chocolate Chip to make it a bit darker) with a scalloped edge. Of course I had to stitch that part too! I ran the Baja Breeze panel through my Cuttlebug with the Snowflakes embossing folder, and then finished it off with a brown mat, three strips of brown Satin ribbon (from the Target Club Wedd section), and finally my circle sentiment popped up on a Prima. The sentiment is from the clear Everyday Greetings set, which is one of my favorites! I love all the cute combinations you can create with it.

Happy Tuesday, yall! I just have a few seconds, but I wanted to post this card that I made for the Verve Project Parade Challenge. I was getting so hungry looking at the colors...they remind me of Neopolitan Ice Cream!! Here's the awesome pic that Julee posted for us to draw inspiration from.
How yummy is that??!!! Love it. And here's my card:

I used Dawn's OCC Sketch from last Saturday...love this sketch! I stamped the background from Grateful Elegance in Regal Rose ink on my Pretty in Pink panel, and then sponged the edges with Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip ink. I used my Martha Stewart border punch to create the gorgeous scalloped edges and sponged the edges to make them stand out. I tied a big Chocolate Chip bow and mounted those layers on dimensionals to my 5 1/4" square card base. The corners of the Close to Cocoa piece are punched with the Ticket Corner punch, and all the edges are sponged with Chocolate Chip as well. To finish it off, I added some swirls and a sentiment from the Fairy Tales set and some Bella Pearls.

Hey peeps! Sorry my MFTeaser is so late...it has been crazy busy! Again! I know I keep saying that, and I'm sure you're all feeling the same way. Anywho...

It's time to show you a new set, which will be available from My Favorite Things on Wednesday night after the Cocktail Party in the Forum. The set is called Bunny Slippers, and it's adorable! I don't have a really good Get Well set, so this fits the bill perfectly!

I used Cindy's MFT Sketch for this week. This card measures 5 1/4" square, so that will give you an idea of the size of the image. I used Daisy Bucket Sweet Marabella collection papers with touches of Prism cardstock. I love the bright colors, and the orange and green just look awesome together.

Ok, so housekeeping....I have seen several requests on forums for stampers and bloggers to list the specific colors of Copic markers they use on each project. Sometimes this is just a few, other times it's a big long list, which is why I haven't done it. Is that something you'd like to see? Let me know, ok?

I did a little stamping just for fun tonight, and thought I'd play in the SCS Sketch Challenge for this week. Here's what I came up with!

I wanted to play with my new Cosmo Cricket paper from Jacksonbelle Embellishments, so I paired it with It's a Mod, Mod World....love that set! Do you think this qualifies for Carole's challenge, too, since I used yellow and green and a busy pattern? Worth a shot, right? *wink*

Anywho, nothing's really new with me! It's a super busy time of year, but I'm hoping for a break around the 4th of July. Time to hit the pool! Does anyone watch Dancing with the Stars? Did yall think of me when you saw Cheryl Burke's dress? *grin* I loved it. All it was missing was a little bit of tulle to be absolute PERFECTION.

Here's a card I made over the weekend with last Wednesday's sketch challenge on SCS. Although it's clean and simple, I really like it! Ok that came out wrong. I like clean and simple. But I usually don't do it so well. This one, I like. (there, is that better?)


I played around a bit with watercoloring with my Stampin' Up! Markers, and found it to be a whole lot easier than I did the last time I tried it. I had better luck with a dryer waterbrush (if that makes any sense at all). The less water I used, the more control I had.

So the other day, we were driving down the road and my youngest son (looking up at the 1/4 moon) says, "Mom, I think Santa Claus eats the moon. It keeps getting smaller."

HAHAAAA!!!!!!!!!! That cracked me up. He just says these things, so matter of fact. Hilarious. Kind of like the time he asked if my friend/co-worker's dad had two heads. WTH?? I'd love to spend an afternoon in his brain.

Just a quick little post for you today, cause we're off to my mom's to play Guitar Hero!! I'm almost glad we don't have one here yet, because I don't think I'd do anything else! That thing is sooo fun.

Anywho, Beate's Weekend Sketch is one that I always intend to do, but never get time. I finally did this week...wahoo!

This stamp is just hilarious, in fact all the stamps in the Emerson line at American Art Stamp just crack me up. If you need a laugh, take a second and look through them. It'll make you smile for sure!

Anywho, this one's pretty self explanatory, except that ribbon really does match the cardstock, I promise!! *wink* For some reason the light pulled out some strange blue color in it. Anyway, have a fabulous Sunday afternoon!
