Don't think of yesterday, and I don't look at the clock...I like to boogie woogie...

Happy Thursday, y'all! I was so inspired by Emily's Art Journal Monday post this week that I spent some downtime playing yesterday...boy did I have fun and make a huge mess! I recently got my first Moleskin journal, and I chose one with watercolor paper because I love the texture.

I started by doodling with some graphite pencils, and I ended up with the music note and the word "music." Then I used a black Faber Castell pen with a brush tip to add some faux calligraphy to my sketching.


Next I started layering color using liquid watercolors. I added lime grean, turquoise, purple, and some tangerine in various places and strengths all over the page. Once that dried, I stamped the eclectic mesh image in black Stazon, and the bubble wrap image in Antique Linen distress ink onto various areas of the page. I also had this great diamond border stamp (can't find it on the Bella website at the moment) that I added along the line under 'music' in gray Memento ink. At that point the mesh looked a little stark, so I decided to add some sprays of Tattered Angels Chalkboard mist, also incorporating the Mini Chickenwire template from Crafter's Workshop.


That was definitely MUCH closer to the look that I was going for...this was a total experiment, by the way! I cut out a few words from some vintage dictionary pages to create my quote, highlighting it with Copic Opaque White. I liked the look of that so I added it in a few more places. I probably should have used Gesso, but oh well...that's why this was play! I wanted to add a few more details, so I spritzed parts of the page with water, and I also used some Studio Calico Mister Huey in white as well. I have some SEI Tumble Dye Spray on its way to me as we speak, and I can't wait to see what all the fuss is about!


The last few details I added were the canvas bits, glitter (of course), and some Rock Candy Distress Stickles. The Stickles were still wet when I took this photo, so they ended up a lot less shiny...much more in keeping with the rest of the page.

Ok, so....what do you think, y'all? I know it's nowhere NEAR my usual style, but it sure was fun to make a mess and just PLAY. Definitely inspiring to try different things and stretch my creative muscles a little. I'd love to hear what you think, and if you'd like to see more...I do have a whole empty journal, you know! Hey y'all! Happy Monday! If you're looking for my Amber Ink Blog Hop post, please click HERE. I have a little project for this week's Art Journal Monday for Stamping Bella. This week our theme was WORDS...so I had a little fun and stretched myself a little. Here's the tag I created:



First I spritzed the bottom right corner with Glimmer Mist. Then I stamped the Shady Leaf stamp in green acrylic paint upside down...it looked like Mistletoe to me! I attempted to emboss with the paint, but it didn't stay wet long enough in places, so I went back over the image with my VersaMarker (how did I live without this?) and embossed with clear embossing powder. THEN I took a brown marker and wrote whatever came to mind when I conjured up Christmas memories. Here's a closeup:



The sentiment at the bottom of a tag comes from a song that we have a home video of my little sister and I singing, oh so sweetly, in front of the Christmas tree...during which she decides her doll needs a good spanking with a wooden spoon. Awesome. That was written with VersaMarker as well, and embossed with black. The finishing touch was the berries, made from red paint, Glamour Dust, and Glossy Accents, and finally a big bow at the top.

Here's the card I created featuring Rustic Tiles and gorgeous trims and brads from Creative Impressions, who so generously sent us goodies to play with this month!


 I stamped this image in Versamark onto white cardstock, then embossed it in white. After that cooled, I spritzed the entire panel with red Glimmer Mist. Here's a look at some of the shimmer from the mist:


Gorgeous, huh? I stamped the words "I Believe" from Cancer Schmancer across a pretty gold ribbon in black Stazon and layered it onto white twill. A few mulberry flowers finished off the design.

Bellariffic Friday on Monday!

Hey y'all! Happy Monday! Let's pretend it's Friday, and that it's Bellariffic, ok? *wink* We had a crazy week last week around the Teubner house, including a trip to the ER, a school play, and a sibling fight...and that was all in one day! Boy, these kids exhaust me some days. lol

Anyway, here, FINALLY, is my project for Bellariffic Friday, which was Holiday Themed!


I wanted to color my new Uptown Girl has a Present image...oh my, is she fabulous or what? I tried a new technique...I stamped her in Memento London Fog ink (light gray) and used my shading to show the lines. It was tough, but I love how it turned out! Here's a closeup:


I created a little funky, graffitti-esque feel on the tag with the mesh stamp from Isabelle Norris and the Chicken Wire template from Crafter's Workshop. I sprayed some chalkboard Glimmer Mist over the template...so fabulous. Then I added a die cut piece of Basic Grey paper, and a bit of a doily from another canvas project. The final touches were some ribbon and lots of glitter...I love the mix of elegant and urban...that's what I was going for anyway!

I am still in the process of a major craft room overhaul...currently I'm organizing and putting things together so I can find out what kind of storage I need. I found my stash of Waltzingmouse Stamps, and HAD to ink them up...here's what I came up with:


Isn't that background image gorgeous? It's from the Free Spirit - Boy set. I wanted to keep the card super clean and simple and let the image take center stage, so I decided to make it white-on-white. Like the cool funky splotchy look? I spritzed the image with a few colors of Glimmer Mist instead of using ink, and I love how it turned out! The sentiment is from the Words of Wisdom set.

Instructions:
1. Randomly spritz large image with blue, yellow, and pink dye ink spray
2. Cut and emboss image with Spellbinders die
3. Stamp sentiment in black ink
4. Next time make sure your black ink pad is not dry before you stamp on your main image panel
5. Cut white card base and emboss with polka dot embossing folder
6. Adhere main image panel to card base with foam dimensionals.

Here's a closer look...you can even see some of the shimmer:


I think I'll probably make a few more of these with different sentiments...but I think heat embossing them would be beautiful. What do y'all think? Any other ideas?

Happy Thursday, y'all! I hope your week is going great. Mine is! I had a quick second to post, so I thought I'd share an ornament I made last week when I had the company of a precious 8 year old little girl and we did some playing. I didn't snap a picture of her ornament, but here's one of the one I made.



Yep, it's simple, but I like it. I used a 3" round coaster from my stash and paper from The Girls Paperie Tinsel & Twig Collection. After adding some bling from Zva Creative, I cut some kraft cardstock with my Vintage Oval Die from Verve. I stamped the Vintage Oval Frame in Old Olive ink, then added a snowflake and the word "Joy" from Papertrey's Snowflake Serenade in Crumb Cake ink. Then I overstamped the word in Early Espresso so it looks like a drop shadow. Love the way this looks on Kraft cardstock! I colored a few Swarovski Crystals with a red Copic marker, then adhered them to the snowflake before popping up the Kraft piece onto my ornament above the bling. The finishing touch was some wrinkled seam binding dyed with glimmer mist and aged with ink.

Happy Sunday, y'all! I hope you all are having a great weekend and enjoying today. It's getting close to the Anni-VERVE-sary release...this Friday is the day! Here's the card I created using Fabulous You and Basic Grey Capella papers:


I wanted to go with a more subdued color combination with this card, and the Cappella line fit the bill perfectly. Can you believe that this is the first time I've cut into my 6x6 paper pad?? *eek*

Instructions:
1. Cut and fold cream card base to 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" square.
2. Stamp frame with brown ink & sentiment in green ink.
3. Trim around frame and set aside.
4. Spray cream silk ribbon with brown Glimmer Mist to stain. Set with heat gun & set aside to dry.
5. Cut patterned base layer and mat with cream cardstock.
6. Add strip of another pattern, punched with scalloped edger punch.
7. Wrap strip of brown silk ribbon around scalloped strip and base layer. Adhere ends to back.
8. Add pearl/bling flourish to bottom right corner.
9. Mat main focal image with another layer of cream cardstock and adhere to card base with foam dimensionals.
10. Tie bow with remaining brown silk ribbon, above focal panel.
11. Adhere small flower to center of bow.
12. Adhere card layers to base with foam dimensionals.

I hope you've enjoyed my card today. I'm headed to take an eensie nap...gearing up for another HOT week of football practice! Just to give you an idea, it was 92* last night when I went to bed at 11:30. NO JOKE! Last I heard, we were at about 19 days in a row over 100 degrees. August in Texas is brutal for sure! I think I should visit Colorado...*sigh*

My starting off point for this card was a sketch by Kim Teasdale for the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges over on Splitcoast. I colored the image with Copics, added some Glossy Accents to the mermaid and the seal, Diamond Stickles to her hair, then spritzed with Caribbean Blue Glimmer Mist so it looked like she was under water. I spritzed the Soft Sky base layer as well.

Hey, y'all...Happy Bellariffic Friday! I have another post for you today...this time with a peek from the Stamping Bella Release! I have the privilege of showing you Eloise is in Love...how cute is she??

You all know how I love my Chichiboulie Fairies, and this one is no exception. How adorable are those ruffled socks?? Here's a close-up of her:

I just loveyyy her! She was stamped on Bella's Bestest Paper and colored with Copics. I airbrushed the ground (pretend she is on a little hill...it's a bit crooked...) with W3 and then the rest of the background with a nice soft yellow (Y21). Then I cut and embossed the image with my Labels 8 Nestabilities and added a black mat (cut by hand). I gave the image a little OOMPH with some Glossy Accents on her shoes and flagpole, and some Diamond Stickles on her wings and a few details on the flag. The paper underneath her is from the Bella Blvd Flirty Collection, and I used my Martha Stewart Doily Lace Edger punch on the side layers. The final touch was a ribbon/bow combo with a GORGEOMALICIOUS Prima flower, sprayed with Oyster Glimmer Mist. Love that stuff!
