Hello, it's me... I was wondering if after all these years you'd like to meet...

Hey, y'all! It has been about 3 1/2 years since I've updated my blog...I almost forgot how. So much has happened, and I'm sure I'll do a "catch-up" post, but for now, I have a fabulous baby girl card to share since they have all made their way to their destinations. Yes, I made 55 of these...and can I say...ONLY for my sister *grin*

I stamped this image from an old Stampin' Up set called Buggies & Booties in black ink and colored it with Copics. Which have been sitting in my closet for 3 years and are still in working order. Totally amazing. Anyway, here's a closer look:
And here's a semi-current photo of my boys and me. Caleb will be 16 next week, Cole is 13, and Dean is our newest addition. He's now 2 years old.
Anyway, there is so much I want to share, but I'll save it for another day...just wanted to say hi, and I'm BAAAAAACCCCKKK!!

Try to get yourself a bargain, son...don't be sold on the very first one...

Happy Tuesday, y'all! It's a crazy day around here as we are getting ready for school to start again on Thursday. Is it Thursday yet??!!! *wink*

Anyway, it's time for a new Skipping Stones Design sketch, and since it's a new month, we get to welcome a new Guest Sketch Artist! I'm excited about the sketches that Pamela Young has come up with for January. Here's our first one:

Fun, right? I went with a monochromatic look for this week:

I chose a range of pinks (Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, & Rose Red) and stamped this fabulous pattern from Grunge onto each strip in Versamark ink. Then I embossed them with clear detail embossing powder and rounded opposite corners.

After adhering the strips to my Kraft card base, I stamped the sentiment in Fresh Snow ink three times without re-inking the stamp, making it lighter as I went. I added a ink blotch to the bottom corner, and then tied some white crochet thread around the top in a loopy bow. Easy and fabulous!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to head over to the Skipping Stones Design blog for details on how you could win a free set if you play along with the sketch!  And take a look at what my teammates (and our special guests) have created:

Well sometimes I go out by myself, and I look across the water...and I think of all the things, of what you're doing, and in my head I paint a picture...

Good morning, y'all! How have you been? We are great over at the Teubner Haus, just going from here to there and trying to enjoy the time in between. Soccer and baseball seasons are in full swing, so that means fun Saturdays, and opportunities to play with the camera lens I got for my birthday. Woohoo!

Anyway, I snuck away to my craft disaster area room last night and finally got to turn some of my colored images into cards. The first card features Josephine cuddling her pet cat Kiki from Stampavie's CHA Winter Release.

Isn't she gorgeous? She was so much fun to color. I colored her with Copic markers and added some bling, lace and a gorgeous Prima flower as an accent. The main image and October Afternoon card base were cut and embossed with Nestabilities Labels Seventeen.

The next card features an adorable image from Mo Manning's Stampavie Collection called Psst Dani and Taylor. I colored this image over a year and a half ago to show as a sample in a Copic class...I love it!!

I really had fun with this card...just kind of went crazy with the colors and layout. I used Rectangle Nestabilities to cut and emboss the main image and scalloped mat, and used my cute little notebook page style border punch on the lined paper. The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket, and the  polka dot strip is from the Pink Paislee Artisan Elements Border pack...it's a fun cross between foam and resin, and comes white so you can customize the color to your project. I sprayed this one with Glimmer Mist.

The sentiment (from Papertrey Ink) fit nicely onto my yellow butterfly, then I added some Diamond Stickles and glitter around the edges. A few little touches like twine, a mini library clip, and glitter, and I was all finished!

Well, I better get going...I hope you have a wonderful day. Thanks so much for stopping by to see me!

But they told me...a man should be faithful...and walk when not able...and fight till the end, but I'm only human...

Happy Sunday, y'all! Thanks for all the support and encouragement on my last post...you guys are awesome! You made me feel all warm and fuzzy. *grin*

I just found a card I made several weeks ago that I never blogged...shame on me! I made it for a Splitcoast Sketch Challenge, but I have no idea which one. *facepalm* I DO know, though, that I used an image from Christy Croll of Tiddly Inks, who is also a fellow Texan. She and a slew of wonderful artists created a collection of images to sell and raise funds for my friend Katie Renz, who is fighting like Wonder Woman against Stage 4 stomach cancer. This image is available HERE, along with a bunch of other adorable images, for only $20. What a deal! There are even more choices, so check the main Help For Katie blog for all the details.

I printed my image onto Copic Blending Card by X-Press It, then colored it with Copic markers. It was soooo fun to color...isn't it adorable?!
Step by Step Instructions:
1. Print image onto white cardstock
2. Color image and cut with Nestabilities dies
3. Sponge edges with light brown ink
4. Cut white card base to 5.5" square
5. Cut strips of patterned paper and sponge edges
6. Dry emboss Kraft cardstock strip with diamond pattern
7. Adhere strips to white card base.
8. Sand all edges to even them and show white core
9. Cut journaling card, sponge around edges, and adhere to base
10. Adhere main image panel to card base
11. Cut banner strip from white cardstock and sponge edges
12. Spell "SMILE" with stickers onto banner
13. Adhere banner to base across bottom of journaling card
14. Write "you make me" with fine tip marker

Here's a detail shot:

Well, that's about it for me today...I'm off to lunch with my kiddos and Josh's parents. Thanks for coming by to visit me today...have a wonderful afternoon!

Stamps: Double Trouble Digital Image (Tiddly Inks for Katie Renz)
Paper: XPress It Blending Card (Copic), Kraft, White (PTI), A Walk in the Park Collection (Echo Park)

Come to Bethlehem and see...Christ whose birth the angels sing; Come, adore on bended knee...Christ the Lord, the newborn King...

Happy Thursday, y'all! I hope your week is going great. Mine is! I had a quick second to post, so I thought I'd share an ornament I made last week when I had the company of a precious 8 year old little girl and we did some playing. I didn't snap a picture of her ornament, but here's one of the one I made.

Yep, it's simple, but I like it. I used a 3" round coaster from my stash and paper from The Girls Paperie Tinsel & Twig Collection. After adding some bling from Zva Creative, I cut some kraft cardstock with my Vintage Oval Die from Verve. I stamped the Vintage Oval Frame in Old Olive ink, then added a snowflake and the word "Joy" from Papertrey's Snowflake Serenade in Crumb Cake ink. Then I overstamped the word in Early Espresso so it looks like a drop shadow. Love the way this looks on Kraft cardstock! I colored a few Swarovski Crystals with a red Copic marker, then adhered them to the snowflake before popping up the Kraft piece onto my ornament above the bling. The finishing touch was some wrinkled seam binding dyed with glimmer mist and aged with ink.

I hope you like it...and hope you're all doing well. Talk to you soon!

I'm ordinary on most days...extraordinary on my best...I've got a good job, but the way I spend money I never have any left...

Happy Tuesday, y'all! What a weekend! Actually what a week...I'm sorry I have been gone all week. I was home Tues-Fri of last week with two boys sick with the flu. Yep...it landed here in the Teubner house. But I am so proud...I didn't catch it! Yay for Airborne! On Saturday we went and had some family photos taken. Here's a preview:
Fun, huh? My friend Stephanie Wilson did them for us...if you're in the DFW area (or not!) you should totally call her! She's awesome!

Anyway, it's time for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge...you know what that means, right? This one I kind of did by memory...my phone had the sketch on it, and my phone died. I had all the pieces cut, but didn't have them assembled, so I just stuck them on and hoped for the best. Looks like I was pretty close! Here's this week's sketch:

As I was searching through my stuff, waiting to be inspired, I remembered that I have a guy friend with a birthday this week. I decided to go with that and make him a card. So here's what I came up with:

And here's a closer Look:

I adjusted the sketch to the sentiment that I chose, which meant flipping it, but I think it works, don't you? (AHEM. Say yes. *giggle*) I used a variety of Papertrey Ink products on this one, except for the Cuttlebug embossing folder on the Soft Sky base layer.

Well, I'm all chatted out for now, but I'll be back soon with my Skipping Stones Design card for this week's sketch. Don't forget to check out what Mercy has for you, as well as the rest of the muses:

Have a fabulous day!

No fame, no money, I'm nobody...the way I'm runnin' has sure got me down on my knees...next stop, Vegas, please...

Happy Tuesday, y'all! How was your weekend? I had a great one...Friday was spent at the State Fair of Texas (where you better move fast or they'll fry and serve you on a stick), Saturday was football day, and Sunday was a fun day with family and friends. I even cooked dinner! (don't faint, Mom...)

Anyway, now it's back to the real world, and it's that time of year...I have two kiddos with strep throat. Ick! Luckily they feel ok (only one actually has a sore throat), but it's still no fun. In between dr visits yesterday I took a minute to make a card for this week's Skipping Stones Design Sketch Tuesday.

This is Karen's fabulous sketch for this week:

And here's my card, using Grunge & Tough Guy:

Instructions:
1. Cut and emboss green layer. Sponge edges, distress, and mat with gray cardstock.
2. Cut Kraft panel, stamp with woodgrain image. Sponge edges and distress, and adhere to green panel.
3. Distress edges of black panel and adhere to green base.
4. Stamp sentiment and grungy spots on white cardstock. Punch out with 1 3/4" punch.
5. Run black inkpad around edge of circle. Mat with grey cardstock cut with die.
6. Adhere circle panel to card base with foam dimensionals.
7. Add brads to bottom right corner.

Here's a close-up:

That's about it for today, folks...I'm up late and I'm tired! I'll catch ya later *wink*

I was so lost back then...but with a little help from my friends...I found a light in the tunnel at the end...

Hey, y'all! Did you think I forgot about you? Nope! I sure didn't! I'm back with a cute little 4 1/4" square card using Anna's new set Sunnyside Up. I had soooo much fun coloring this little girl!

Sorry for the crummy picture...my camera has been on strike lately! Maybe it's because she knows I'm about to replace her with a Canon Digital Rebel...*wink* Anyway, I stamped this cute girlie on Neenah White cardstock in Memento Black ink and colored her with Copic markers. Then I punched out the image with a Marvy Circle Punch (the pink one), and sponged the edges with distress ink.

After cutting the Kraft card base and sponging the edges, I decided to layer a couple of different patterned papers for fun. The bottom layer is from the October Afternoon Thrift Shop collection punched with the Open Scallop Edger Punch from EK Success. The yellow is a Bo Bunny Double Dot paper, punched with the Double Embossed Dotted Lace Punch, also from EK Success. Both of those layers were sponged with distress ink, then layered onto the card base. I stamped the sentiment from Friendly Expressions in black, tied some Hawaiian Shores ribbon around the card, and popped the circle image up on dimensionals. So fun!

Hope you enjoyed my card and all the others from this month's Featured Designer crew! Have a fabulous day!

And there's a perfectly good island somewhere...where a ride that floats and don't grab your coats...you won't need them where we are going...

Hi, y'all! Thanks so much for coming back to visit me...posting will be pretty sporadic for the next few weeks while we move and get settled into our new place. We aren't going far, but the thought of packing up my craft room makes me get hives! *shudder*

ETA: This card is for all of you who called, emailed, texted, sent cards, sent cheese ;), prayed, or thought of us during the last couple of months. I couldn't have made it through without all of you.

I remembered that I hadn't shared this card with you, so here ya go! I created this at a crop night at The Crafty Scrapper back in February, and I love how it turned out. I think I created it for a Sketch Challenge... AHA!!! I found it!! It was for Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #54. Here's the sketch (since it has been FOREVER ago!):

And here's my card, packed FULL of Papertrey goodies:

This was just me, playing with new goodies, "Cards Gone Wild" if you will. *giggle* I am going to try the "instruction list" type thing...tell me how you like it rather than a blurb of words. I love how Joan does it... she cracks me up. Love her. I will try to come back and link things, but there is so much here, that I'm feeling lazy and not wanting to do it now. But you can find everything at Papertrey Ink.

Step 1: Stamp 5" square of Sweet Blush CS with Polka Dot Basics 2 in Sweet Blush ink
Step 2: Stamp over Polka Dots with Background Basics: Petal Power in Berry Sorbet ink.
Step 3: Sponge edges with Berry Sorbet ink, and mat with Dark Chocolate CS.
Step 4: Add texture with a tracing wheel around all four sides.
Step 5: Cut strip of Aqua Mist for side panel, spong with Close to Cocoa ink.
Step 6: Mat with Dark Chocolate cardstock, punched with SU Scalloped Punch on one side.
Step 7: Use tracing wheel again.
Step 8: Stamp square of Ripe Avocado CS with Turning a New Leaf image in Ripe Avocado ink.
Step 9: Sponge edges with Close to Cocoa and distress with edge of bone folder.
Step 10: Mat with Dark Chocolate and use tracing wheel again.
Step 11: Cut and emboss circle from Vintage Cream CS with Circle Nestabilities.
Step 12: Stamp sentiment from Signature Greetings in Chocolate Chip ink in center of circle.
Step 13: Sponge circle with Berry Sorbet ink, then outside edges with Close to Cocoa ink.
Step 14: Pierce around inside of embossed circle using circle template.
Step 15: Cut larger Dark Chocolate circle and mat.
Step 16: Pop circle up on foam dimensionals in center of Avocado square.
Step 17: Cut card base to 5 1/4" x 10 1/2", fold, and adhere card to base.

See how long that would have taken me to explain with more words?? EEK!! Really, though, be honest, tell me which you prefer...the sentence-paragraph thing, or the step by step one. Promise?

Ok, I will try to be back soon...maybe soon I will get my craft room clean-ish so I can get to my stuff. It has become the "catch-all" again...sigh...but I am hopeful! *wink*

Thanks for visiting me. Have a good one!

Wanna get rowdy...gonna get a little unruly...get it fired up in a hurry...

Hey, everyone! What have y'all been up to?

So there's something really fun going on at Splitcoast called Dare to Get Dirty. For the next few days the fan club members are going to be playing in challenges thrown at us by past and present dirty girls. It's sooo fun! All of the challenges are located HERE. If you're not a fan club member, you can find out all about it HERE.

I got package today from Papertrey...I finally caved and ordered this set...no thanks to Chris! *wink* Anywho, I thought it was perfect to use with Cindy's sketch challenge.

My finished card measures 5 1/4" square. I think it's all pretty self-explainatory...if you have any questions, drop me a note in my c-box, k? Hmmm...it's late, and I have tons to do...so I gotta run! Stay tuned tomorrow for my Verve Project Parade card and Bellariffic Friday!

If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself, and then make a change...

Happy Saturday, everybody! What are y'all up to this weekend? We're just kind of being lazy...it's hot outside, and my allergies are too bad in the summer to do anything but stay indoors. Blech!

Yesterday I was impatiently waiting for my Stamping Bella order to be delivered, so I stayed in my craft room (which is right by the front door so I could hear *wink*) and made a cute little card set with some of my Verve Stamps. This idea has been brewing in my head for a few days, and I finally got to finish it. Don't you hate when that happens and you can't find time to sit and finish?

Aren't those cute? (If I do say so myself *wink*) I used last week's Weekend Sketch Challenge from Charmaine, which I thought was perfect to use with my Kindred Spirits set from Verve. I stamped the largest Fleur de lis image in PTI Ocean Tides, Ripe Avocado, and Raspberry Fizz ink three times on Neenah Solar White paper and punched it out with my 1 3/4" circle punch. I then cut pieces of Kraft and Black cardstock for the center panel, and embossed the Kraft with the Swiss Dots embossing folder, then adhered it to the black mat.

To create the bottom portion of the panel, I cut strips of my three colors and stamped the fleur de lis border in a repeated pattern in the same color ink. I then created a scalloped border using my SU Scalloped Edge Punch. The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black, and then I adhered the strip to the bottom of the Kraft panel. I decided to use Score-Tape for this in case the embossing kept the strip from totally sticking down to the panel.

One of the reasons I chose these three colors is because I had matching stitched grosgrain ribbon for all three. I tied the ribbon in a knot around the panels at the very top of the colored strip, and then popped up my three circles on dimensionals along the left side. I then adhered the panels to my white card bases with dimensionals.

Well, I'm off to color some of my new Bella images...I'll see y'all later! Have a wonderful weekend!

Monday, June 1, 2009

Oh turnin' corners is only a state of mind...Keeping your eyes closed is worse than being blind...

Top of the mornin' to ya, everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are ready (like me) to send the kiddos back to school for one last week! *grin* I had a blast at the North Texas Shoebox Swap...had a great group of girls to stamp with and made 48 cards...holy cow, we were pooped! My house was a disaster, so I spent most of today cleaning, and had a momentous event occur. Are you guys ready? I have waited NINE WHOLE YEARS for this day, and was so happy when it happened that I almost cried. Look:

Can you believe it??? Caleb not ONLY cleaned his room, but I taught him how to vacuum. It's a proud, proud day. *happy sigh*

Anywho, to celebrate the occasion, I decided to stamp a little card. It started out as a card for today's Clean and Simple Challenge, but as you can see, it's not quite simple. 5 layers usually disqualify that. *giggle*

But even though it's not simple, it's clean, and I sure do love it. How about you? When I saw this beach towel from Land's End, the repeated pattern reminded me of my Damask Designs set, which sadly hadn't seen ink yet. My girl Dawn designed it, and I love love love it! Looking through my sketches, I thought Mary Jo's Weekend Sketch Challenge #82 was perfect for what I had in mind.

Since I was attempting the CAS challenge still at this point, I chose Prism Intense Pink and intended to use some kind of turquoise with black. Once I got going, I just couldn't work in the turquoise, so pink, white, and black it is! I stamped the more frilly damask pattern in Rose Red on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White and rounded the corners. The sentiment is from Mega Mixed Messages, and I used Nichole's cool button treatment (that I can't find right now) to finish it off. *wink*

Anywho, that's about it! I'm off to work, so I hope you have a fabulous day!

Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht...

Happy Saturday, yall! I'm sorry I'm so late posting, but I'm here with my Sketch for You to Try! We have a new guest with us this week, so give a warm welcome to Lynn Put! I am a big fan of her Bella creations, so I'm looking forward to what she has in store for us!

My card this week started with a Maya Road chipboard snowflake, and grew into a shimmery black and white creation. I thought this sentiment from the Silent Night PTI set was perfect for the feel I was going for.
This card measures 5 1/4" Square. I stamped the 5" square white panel with the flourish from the Silent Night set in Versamark Dazzle champagne ink, then also ran my ink pad along the edges. You can't see it at all in the picture, but it's just beautiful in real life! I embossed the black panel with the Swiss Dots embossing folder, then ran my Dazzle inkpad along the dots and the edges for some more sparkle. The side strip was embossed with the Snowflakes Embossing Folder, then I painted the raised parts with Candle Light Shimmerz. So pretty!!

After painting my chipboard snowflake with white acrylic paint, I followed Anna's Crystal Snowflake instructions to make mine, using the My Martha Stewart branch punch as well. To finish off the card, I pounced my Versamark Dazzle ink pad all over the sentiment panel, so the whole thing sparkles. I really love how this card turned out!

Thanks for coming to see me today! Make sure you check out the eye candy from Jen and Lynn on Jen's blog, and other fantastic samples from my stampin' friends Amy R, Amy S, Carole, and Susan. If you upload to SCS, don't forget to use the keyword SFYTT so we can check out your cards. Have a fabulous weekend!

And I wanna thank you, for giving me the best days of my life

It's Saturday again! YAY! Time for another Sketch for You to Try. This one is an awesome one!! My Spiral Bouquet set hasn't seen ink in quite a while, so I decided to use it for today's card.

I also attempted to do this week's Color Challenge, but failed at that. I just couldn't get Apricot & Caramel in there. So here's my Color Cha card (since I only did it halfway). *wink*

Blush, Coral, and Chocolate have to be one of my favorite color combinations right now. And yes, I actually used some of the wide satin ribbon we've all been hoarding. *grin*

Make sure you check out Jen's blog today to meet our guest this month, Sarah Green! Amy, Carole, and Susan also have some eye candy for you using this sketch, so go by and say hi to them as well. If you play with us and upload to Splitcoast, use the keyword SFYTT so we can all check out your creations!

Happy Saturday!
