Hey peeps, what are y'all up to? I just have a quick second, so I thought I'd post a quick card I made last night while I was on a stamping spree.

I used Jen's Sketch for You to Try this week...kind of a toughie with the three panels, but I took the easy way out, using some of my favorite Bo Bunny Double Dot paper. Yes, AGAIN!

I stamped Suzette Ketto in Memento Tuxedo Black on Prism Simply Smooth White and colored her with Copic Markers. After trimming her down, I matted her with Suede Brown Dark cardstock, and cut out a card base layer from the same brown. I cut my strips from the Coral Double Dot paper, and decided to give them a white mat to pop off the brown base. Love it, although I wish I had taken time to stitch around the edges. Sadly the stamp cave is in desperate need of cleaning again, and I would have had to clean to get to the machine. So, no sewing today. *grin*

Before I popped the image up on dimensionals, I added the Thinking of You sentiment, and a button on top from the Pink Button Bonanza. Then I had to add my usual Diamond Stickles...they make everything just a little bit better, don't you think? *wink*

Happy Sunday and Mother's Day, peeps! I had a wonderful day today that began with roses and breakfast in bed, then an afternoon with my family. A girl couldn't ask for more! I hope all of you moms had a restful day (even if that means there are messy houses to clean tomorrow!) *wink*

Earlier I needed to create a quick card, so I scanned my saved sketches and found this one from Jen's Sketch for You to Try yesterday. I love it when the hard work is done for me...makes card making much quicker!

I pulled out Verve's Because of You set (sorry, it's temporarily sold out, but coming back soon!) to make this one for Josh's mom. I stamped the flower image in Kiwi Kiss, then removed the ink on the flower image with a blender pen and colored it with my Elegant Eggplant marker, then huffed and stamped. I did the same for the other image using Rose Red. Then I stamped the sentiment in Versamagic Midnight Black, sponged the edges of the panel, and distressed it with my Tonic Distressor Tool. The Rose Red panel was embossed using the Textile Embossing Folder. The edges of the Kraft panel were sponged with Close to Cocoa ink, then I added the 5/8" White Grosgrain ribbon.

Well, I'm out...gotta get the crew fed and bathed and ready for bed. Have a wonderful evening!

Happy Saturday, yall! It's that time again...time for another Sketch for You to Try! We're also welcoming a new guest for February...the amazing Jody Morrow! I'm a huge fan of Jody's and can't wait to see what she comes up with.

I promised another announcement today, and I won't keep you guessing. Today marks the last of my adventures as part of the Sketch for You to Try team. I have enjoyed playing along with my girlfriends for a long time now, and I will continue that when time permits. But one of my New Years Resolutions is to simplify, and part of that means reigning back on some commitments to focus on my family and myself. Boy, that's hard to say! Now before you get all worried, I'm fine, and so is the fam. Just doing a little reorganization, that's all. K? Part of my new adventure, as some of you already know, is that I have taken a position with Stamping Bella as a wholesale rep. Fun, right??? Soon (hopefully) you'll see Bellas and Chichis and Tiddlys and Huggabuggs all over the place! I'm gonna be a bizzy sistah!

Ok, so enough jabbering, on with the card! Here's my take on this week's sketch.

Now, I know it's not my normal pink & brown (seems like I've been on a pink & brown kick for a while, right?), but it sure is fun. I recently got this Rock Star set (thanks to all my Jacksonbelle enabling sistahs) from Inkadinkado, and thought it would be fun paired with this Prima paper. Both of which are apparently gone from the JBE store...sad! But no worries, there are plenty of other goodies there to be snatched, and it's all 30% off! You can check out all the details HERE. The twill is my favorite part...I took it off of a Patron Citronage bottle and saved it from impending trash doom, knowing it would come in handy one day. Gotta love it! I also broke out some of my Distress Stickles which have been sadly neglected.

Welcome to another edition of Sketch for You to Try! February is almost upon us, which means that we're all thinking of what to make for our special someone for Valentine's day. I'm still thinkin...have some ideas brewin, but I did create this card as a possible Valentine card for my hubby. I knew the second I saw this sketch that I had to use my So In Love set from Our Craft Lounge. Doesn't it work just perfectly?

To start the card, I stamped the row of hearts and stripey hearts diagonally onto the Kraft Cardstock in Pixie Dust Versamagic ink. You have to look reaaaaaaaaaaal hard to see it, but it's there! I also swiped the edges of the cardstock with Pixie Dust Versamagic as well.

The hearts became my focal point, so I stamped the love heart first in Real Red onto Pink Pirouette cardstock four times. After those were dry, I stamped the heart outline in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, using my Stampamajig to line it all up just right. I painted the hearts with Pixie Dust Shimmerz, then set them aside to dry.

After doing some crazy stitching on the Kraft panel, I added a red square punched with a scalloped border punch, then layered a piece of white cardstock embossed with my Swiss Dots embossing folder. Then I stamped "Be My Valentine" in Versamark on Black cardstock and embossed it with white embossing powder. I love the fonts in this set! I knew I needed some ribbon somewhere, so I created a tag out of the sentiment strip and created a small blank one for the other side. I threaded some pink organdy ribbon through and tied a little knot. I added a black strip on the top as the sketch called for.

The finishing touch was placing the hearts on the card on dimensionals to make them pop out. I really like how all of the elements came together on this one, do you? I was very tempted to add buttons, but I decided against it. Anyway, I hope you like it!

Happy Saturday! I hope you've all had a great week. We survived the flu...Cole was the only one with it, and luckily the rest of us have been symptom free. Yay!!

As we speak, I am headed to the airport, where I am CHA bound! I'm excited to see all my girlfriends as well as all the new products being released. My camera is all packed and ready, so be sure to check in as I will post as much as I can while I'm gone! Ok, so on to my card! Aren't you proud, Jen? I did my Sketch for You to Try before I left! Go me! *wink* I combined the sketch with the TCP Tuesday challenge for this week, which was to use any Valentine's stamps from The Cats Pajamas. I used two of the three sets from the Kitty Kat Pack, which is on sale!

I stamped Poochie from the Puppy Love set (isn't he the cutest?) in Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate ink on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I also stamped the heart thought bubble (from the Loving Mew set) twice...once in Chocolate ink and a second time in Real Red. After coloring Poochie with Copic markers, I cut him out with my Circle Nestabilities and added a Chocolate Chip mat and a Real Red Scalloped mat. Then I cut out the chocolate thought bubble and popped it up next to Poochie. I also cut out the heart from the red thought bubble and popped it up to hide the chocolate one.

After I cut the Chocolate Chip and White panels to size, I added thin mats of red and white, then stitched them to the Kraft card base. I colored some White Taffeta ribbon with a Copic marker to match Poochie's heart and tied it around the card. Then I embossed the sentiment (from the Loving Mew set) with white embossing powder.

This card actually came together pretty quickly once I decided what I was going to do. Love it when that happens! Happy Saturday, yall! I hope you're having a great weekend so far. After I post this, we are headed to the movies to see Paul Blart, Mall Cop...hopefully it will be funny! The boys are super excited.

Today I have my Sketch for You to Try sample for you...and just for kicks, I decided to just play. I felt like playing with Anna Wight's Crazy for Chickens set, so I pulled it out and created this little 4.25" square card.

Cute, huh? If I do say so myself. *wink* I stamped the chicken image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, then masked him and stamped the bale of hay 3 times, and then the little chicken feed speckles. I colored the entire image with my Copic markers, and after distressing and sponging the edges, I layered the image on Chocolate and Pumpkin cardstock. I already had a scalloped rectangle cut out of Pumpkin in my scrap bag, so I adhered it to the corner of my card and trimmed off the edges. Then I wrapped some brown twine around the corner and tied it off with a brown button from my stash (which is rapidly growing...I have a current button obsession). The card base is Saffron, embossed with the Forest Branches embossing folder, sponged, then layered onto Chocolate and finally onto my Kraft card base. I stamped the adorable little sentiment onto a tag die from my Cuttlebug, then layered it with Pumpkin, Chocolate, and tied some twill ribbon with frayed edges to finish it off.

Whew! What a night. It's Friday now as I'm posting this since I have Copic Class at The Crafty Scrapper tomorrow and I didn't trust myself to get up early and write my post! I am soooo not a morning person. *wink*

So it's time for another Sketch for You to Try! And I have to say, from beginning to end, this one whooped me. It wasn't the sketch, things just weren't going my way, know what I mean, Vern? First and foremost, I have a tip for you. If you ever get a new toy that you don't know how to use, I mean don't have a clue...definitely DO NOT try to figure it out on a card you need done when you're already tired. And absolutely positively don't START your card by using it. It will not be pretty.

Copic Airbrush System - 1

There is nothing wrong with the Airbrush System, as a matter of fact I have seen fabulous results from it, and have even seen it in action! I expect to take it out and be an airbrush WIZARD. But I hook it up, I squeeze, and NADA. Just a little blob of pink on the bottom of my main panel, then NOTHING. Total user error, I'm sure. And I guess it would help to read the directions or something. That, my friends, will have to happen another day. For now, here's my card, with a teensy bit of airbrushing and a whole lotta sponging.

I turned the sketch on its side, then did a little "creative maneuvering" with the circles...you didn't expect any less, did you? And I used the new Sweet Valentine set from Verve. Speaking of, don't forget to check out all the new releases! You can see them all HERE.

So, my desk is a wreck, and I will tell you (which I don't often admit!) that I don't love any part of this card, except the sparkly pink hearts. Oh, and the button. I like buttons. But that's just how it went. I started out frustrated, which wasn't good, and it just didn't work out like I hoped. I am still hopeful...but as for now, it's time for bed. *wink*

Happy Saturday, yall! I'm here, bright and shiny (thanks to Blogger in Draft), and early in the morning to show you my Sketch for You to Try card today. Check out Jen's blog, because we are welcoming an amazing guest for the month of January...diva exraordinare Kirsten DuBosque! I have been such a huge fan of Kirsten's, so I can't wait to see what she does with Jen's sketches!

When I saw this week's sketch, I thought, hmmm...that could be tough. But in my usual fashion, I made my own way in the world and made it work. *wink* I didn't stray toooooo far though, did I?

I started by stamping Snow Bunny Flopsey from My Favorite Things in Brilliance Black on Watercolor paper. Then I watercolored him with a mixture of SU Markers, Reinkers, and a waterbrush. To finish off the image, I added some Liquid Applique to the ground, his mittens, and his hat. You know I love my Liquid Applique. *wink* I also sponged all the edges with Close to Cocoa ink to soften them a bit.

Then I moved back to my card base, which uses a sheet of the Basic Grey Sultry line. I stitched that to the Chocolate Chip mat, and then matted it to my 5.25" Square white card base. The side panels were created using Pink Pirouette cardstock, punched along one side with the SU Scalloped Edge punch, then run through the Cuttlebug with the Snowflakes embossing folder. Once that was all done, I sponged all the edges again, and lightly ran the sponge over the raised parts of the snowflakes. I lined up my Chocolate Chip mat scallops to fit with the pink ones, and then added some metallic brown brads on each scallop.

I ran a strip of Pale pink satin ribbon from my stash under the first strip, under the main image, and then tied a little knot over the top of the second strip. Then Bunny was popped up on some dimensionals to stand out. He's the star of the show, you know!

To finish it all off, I added some Primas (one painted with Spiced Cider Shimmerz), and finally a Basic Grey button on top. Whew! There's a lot of stuff on this baby and can I tell you...it's HEAVY! *grin* I hope you like it though.

From within, a dim light cast, two silhouettes on the shade...oh, what a lovely couple they made...

Hey guys, how are ya? I know, I'm a bit late with the Sketch for You to Try again. I made a card, but it was so not pretty, I tell ya! Ick! So it was back to the drawing board last night, and I finally got one I could show ya. *grin*

I used my new Nature's Silhouettes set from CHF (a birthday present from my girl Julee!), and I only switched the sketch around a little bit! *wink* First I inked up the Boxwood stamp in Versamark, then inked over that with Ruby Red and stamped it twice on Pearlized White cardstock. Then I embossed that with clear detail embossing powder. Once that cooled, I repeated the steps with the Bayleaf stamp using River Rock and Old Olive ink, then clear embossed those. Instant masking! After layering that panel on Chocolate Chip, I popped it up on dimensionals over a Ruby Red layer punched with my new Martha Stewart border punch. I tried to find the name or a link for it, but no luck! I will let you know when I find it, k?

For the card base, I cut a piece of designer paper from the My Mind's Eye Laundry Line collection to 5" square. I matted it with Chocolate Chip and stitched around the edges with my sewing machine. I wrapped 2 strips of 5/8" Chocolate Grosgrain around the base, then popped up my main image panel on dimensionals. To finish off the card, I added 3 buttons tied with embroidery thread.

I hope you're recovering from the holidays. I'm still trying to get my stamp room cleaned up so I can get to work on stuff for the MFT and Verve releases next week. Stay tuned...there's fun stuff coming!

Happy Saturday, folks! Thanks so much for sticking with me, even though I've been bizzy and haven't been posting much. I did manage to get some fabulous teacher gifts finished (no pics, it was too late!) and now I'm on to some other gifty things. Hopefully I will get them finished in time to photograph them and show them off.

I have to say that this sketch had me stumped for a few minutes! Those circles threw me for a loop. I knew I wanted to use my Deck the Hall set from The Cats Pajamas, so I worked around the large tree image. Here's my card:

This card is also for the TCP Tuesday challenge, which is to use any of the tree images. I stamped the tree image in Brilliance Graphite Black twice on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, then colored one image with Copics. I cut out the tree, then popped it up on top of the non-colored image, adding some Liquid Applique snow. I also added the sentiment to the top right...it seemed to fit perfectly!

To create the background, I stamped the three snowflakes from the same set in Versamark ink on So Saffron cardstock, then embossed the images with clear detail embossing powder. Then I sponged the edges with Saffron, Marigold Morning, and Pumpkin Pie ink. To finish off the card, I added some layers and ribbon, as well as Primas and a button for my circles. I am happy with how this turned out!

Whoopi-ty-aye-oh...rockin' to and fro...back in the saddle again...

Happy Saturday, yall! I hope you're enjoying your weekend so far. I am hard at work on gifts in my stamp room, which is a total disaster, but I managed to find supplies to make my Sketch for You to Try card today. This is a great sketch, definitely one I'm keeping in my sketchbook for later.

I used some of my cowgirl paper stash from Creative Imaginations to get my card started. What a fun line! I remember seeing it last February at CHA and forgot about them till I saw them at The Crafty Scrapper last week. I got a whole stack!

This card measures 5 1/4" square, and most of the layers are sponged with Tea Dye and Walnut Stain Distress ink. The sentiment is from Deadbeat Designs that I picked up on my last trip to Stamp Salado.

Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht...

Happy Saturday, yall! I'm sorry I'm so late posting, but I'm here with my Sketch for You to Try! We have a new guest with us this week, so give a warm welcome to Lynn Put! I am a big fan of her Bella creations, so I'm looking forward to what she has in store for us!

My card this week started with a Maya Road chipboard snowflake, and grew into a shimmery black and white creation. I thought this sentiment from the Silent Night PTI set was perfect for the feel I was going for.
This card measures 5 1/4" Square. I stamped the 5" square white panel with the flourish from the Silent Night set in Versamark Dazzle champagne ink, then also ran my ink pad along the edges. You can't see it at all in the picture, but it's just beautiful in real life! I embossed the black panel with the Swiss Dots embossing folder, then ran my Dazzle inkpad along the dots and the edges for some more sparkle. The side strip was embossed with the Snowflakes Embossing Folder, then I painted the raised parts with Candle Light Shimmerz. So pretty!!

After painting my chipboard snowflake with white acrylic paint, I followed Anna's Crystal Snowflake instructions to make mine, using the My Martha Stewart branch punch as well. To finish off the card, I pounced my Versamark Dazzle ink pad all over the sentiment panel, so the whole thing sparkles. I really love how this card turned out!

A day or two ago...I thought I'd take a ride...

Hey you guys! I hope my American sisters had a wonderful Thanksgiving and didn't spend too much $$ yesterday. *wink* I am not brave enough to go out on Black Friday...are you?

Today I have another sample for Jen's Sketch for You to Try! I am currently in a hotel room in downtown Fort Worth...we spent Thursday and Friday night here. It was so fun! We watched the Parade of Lights from our hotel window, then watched as they lit the tree in Sundance Square. All while eating pizza and lounging...it was great!

So...here's my card!

Last week I did a little shopping at The Crafty Scrapper, and picked up this adorable stamp set from October Afternoon from the Good Cheer Collection. How cute is this??? I stamped him in Brilliance Graphite Black on Neenah Solar White cardstock, then cut him out with my Circle Nestabilities. I also cut a Real Red scalloped layer. The DP and ribbon is from Stampin' Up...love it also! The sentiment was perfect for my Christmas/Holiday card stash (hopefully I will mail them this year...), so I stamped it in black on my card base. Super easy!

I used the Verve Plain Jane Philippians 4:13 stamp and cut & layered it with my nestabilities. I am sooo proud of my stitching on here...look how straight it is!!! GO ME! *wink* Anywho, I thought this was a nice, bright cheery "You can do it" kind of card. Hope you like it!

Okay so I have been writing this blog post for almost an hour...the kiddos are grouchy today! We're gonna make it short and sweek, k?

I used one of the new Verve Releases called Snow Wonderful. This little guy is sooo super cute! Check out samples from my friends Jen (and our guest Becca), Amy R, Amy S, Carole, and Susan.

And here is the card I made for Julee's Holiday Release Sketch Blitz Day 5.

This card uses images from Snowflake Splendor and a sentiment from Ornamental Christmas. I went shabby chic on this one with lots of sponging, sewing, and some lace trim.

Ahoy, blog peeps! I hope you all had a fantastic Halloween. We trick or treated and had a blast. I'll have some pictures to show you later, but right now I have a new Sketch for You to Try card today! This one came together really quickly, and I really like how it turned out! ARRRGGG....

Fun, huh? I used my Kim Hughes Ahoy Matey set and a branch from the UR A Hoot set to create the main image. I also did the Cracked Glass technique for last Thursday's challenge. Not too easy with Detail embossing powder, but hey, I made it work! *grin*

So another Saturday means another one of Jen's fabulous Sketches for You to Try. I was gearing up for this one to be a toughie, but it came together rather quickly! Here it is...

Fun, huh? I wanted to use Anna Wight's Crazy for Chickens set, and when I looked at these two chickens, I imagined her kissing him. Look at the surprised look on his face! Cracks me up!

I stamped both chickens in Memento Tuxedo Black on Neenah Solar White cardstock, then colored them with Copic markers. My handy Stampamajig made it easy to make chickie look like she's pecking him on the cheek. So cute!! *grin*

Baby, I can't fight this feelin' anymore...

Happy Saturday, yall! It's a pretty day out today, and guess what....I STAMPED! I know...it's shocking... *grin*

It's time for another Sketch for You to Try, and this week I thought I'd ink up Stella has her Fix for my card today.

 

 Isn't she fabulous? I loveeeeeeeeyyyyy her. She is stamped in Brilliance Black ink on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, then colored with Copic markers. Then I added some Stickles to her dress trim, wand, and crown and Diamond Glaze to her lips, coffee cup, and shoes. She is one shiny sistah!

When I saw the sketch, I immediately saw a chance to use some more of my hardware kit from We R Memory Keepers. So I threaded the ribbons through and held both ends in place with brads. I also wanted my background to pop more against the white layer, so I embossed both the rose and caribbean pieces with my Swiss Dots embossing folder, then sponged the pieces with Pomegranate and Turquoise ink, respectively.  The sentiment (from River City Rubber Works) was stamped in Pearlized Chocolate ink and cut out with a long rectangle scalloped Nestabilities. The rectangle was a bit too wide, so I trimmed it to leave scallops only on the left side for something a little different. 

Well, that pretty much covers it...and I think I may have figured out one of the reasons I haven't wanted to stamp this week. My room is a total disaster, the desk is almost covered with scraps of projects, and I can't find anything! So after I finish this post and feed the boys, I'm off to clean up a bit and see if that doesn't do the trick. Fingers crossed!

Breakin rocks in the hot sun...I fought the law and the law won...

Hey yall...here I am!! I feel like I'm running in at the last second to show you my Sketch for You to Try today. I tell you what, this one almost got the best of me, but I fought the sketch and I won! *whew*

I don't know if it was the circles (yes, I think it was the circles), or the color palette I had chosen, but I have seriously been working on this card since 9:00 this morning. After the idea hit me to use chipboard, it all came together quite nicely. So enough with all this yapping....here's my card!

I know, you're not used to so much scrappy-ness from me. But I really kinda like it! Whatcha think?

When I saw Jen's sketch for this week, I immediately thought of this stamp from the Beautiful You set from Verve. (Speaking of, it's on special during the month of October...click the link to see!) I started by stamping the Dr. Seuss quote in Brilliance Black on Pink Pirouette cardstock, then cut it out and embossed it with my Circle Nesties. I added a few layers, making the back layer Pretty in Pink. Love how these 2 look together.

Then I punched 2 Pretty in Pink circles out, then layered them with Black. The little flowers are chipboard from Basic Grey I got at Recollections (sniff) a very long time ago. I painted them with white acrylic paint, then covered them with Diamond Glaze for dimension and shine. Then I turned them into little buttons by punching 2 holes with my Cropadile and adding some darker pink grosgrain. I painted the bracket with pink paint and then stamped the polka dot background from Behind the Scenes (also on SALE!) in Brilliance Black. It needed some shine, too, so I covered it with Diamond Glaze also.

See? I obviously got caught up in a bunch of little details in this card. But I do really like it (thank goodness)! It was touch and go for a while....

And I just can't pull myself away...under a spell I can't break...

I am sorry for the super late post, sistahs. I have worked so hard all week to keep up with work and keep my blog updated, it just all caught up with me today. We all slept late, then met up with family to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday. We had a yummy lunch at the lake...such a gorgeous day! Then when we got home, we all collapsed and took a nap.

Even though it took all day, I am lovin' how it turned out! I stamped Stella needs a prezzie in Brilliance Graphite Black on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored her with Copic markers. I wanted the image to take center stage, so I chose bold, bright colors to color her with, as well as adding glitter to the image for some extra glam. This also works for this week's OCC Challenge, which is to Bring on the Bling. Is the the one for me, or WHAT??? *wink*

I bought this sentiment from River City Rubber Works specifically to pair with this image. I think this could work for Christmas, New Year's, Birthday, or an anniversary. So perfect!! I love how Stella matches up with these sentiments. You'll see more of them, since I couldn't order just one! *grin*
