So I'm going to seek a certain lad I've had in mind...looking everywhere, haven't found him yet...he's the big affair I cannot forget...

Happy Wednesday, y'all! First of all, thank you all so much for the love you left on the blog hop...you made my week! And now it's time for another Simon Says Stamp Challenge!
Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog
This week our challenge is We're so Trendy...to use chevrons, hexagons, and/or neon on our creations. Here's my card:
I used the Quilt Cuts 1 Dies from Wplus9 to cut hexagons from different patterns out of the Simple Stories Happy Day 6x6 pad. I adhered them to a kraft panel, and attached that to another kraft piece with a larger border. I stamped the sentiment from the Year Round Sentiments set from Hero Arts in Versamark and embossed in white on another kraft strip (yes, I have a kraft addiction...). The star is from the same set, and I added stamped stars inside the card as well. To finish it off, I added some Ocean Twine from The Twinery. Since I was making this to brighten the day of a certain special guy, I couldn't make it too frilly. The sentiment is perfect, since that's what I call him. *wink* Here's a closer look:
Thanks so much for stopping by today...and don't forget to play along to win a fabulous prize! You can see all the details and other inspiration for the challenge on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog.

Have a fabulous Wednesday!

New life, new hope, new joy He brings...Won't you listen to the angels sing...Glory, Glory, Glory to the new born King...

Happy Wednesday, sistahs! The holidays are finally catching up with me...and I'm a teensy bit frantic! Anyone else with me out there in blog land? It's time for me to get MOVING! So as I get moving, this will be a quick post. *wink* My mojo was going full speed the other night so I made a few cards to share this week. I pulled out Sweet Sunday Sketch #146 from a few weeks ago as a starting point.

I colored this Choir image from Stamping Bella at LEAST a year ago, and it has been hiding in my stash since then. But it's still one of my favorites. Here's my card:

I flipped the sketch a little, but you can still see it. I really REALLY love how it turned out. I cut and embossed the main image & mat with Nestabilities, and added the Season's Greetings sentiment in a pattern on one of the background panels. I love doing this when there isn't really a "place" for a sentiment, or you don't have one that's the right size for the card front. I also added some glitter and Liquid Applique to the image. Here's a closeup:

To finish it off, I tied a little bow with seam binding and added some glitter dots...love those things! Well, now I've gotta run! Thanks for stopping by to say hi...I hope you have a fabulous day!

They're singing "Deck the Halls"...but it's not like Christmas at all...I remember when you were here...

Hey y'all! Happy Saturday! I just wanted to pop in and say hi really quickly, and show you a clean and simple card I created using last week's Fall-to-Layout #170 from the Clean and Simple Stamping blog. I love these sketches...even when they don't end up so simple.

Here's my card, using some new Verve stamps and dies:

When I saw this week's Color Challenge over on Splitcoast, I knew that the 25 Days of Christmas Collection from Simple Stories would be perfect to use. I knew I wanted to use the Snowflake Tidings die set, so I cut three small snowflakes out of Kraft cardstock, then stamped and embossed the small snowflake from Glad Tidings in white. I sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink and added Swarovski crystals to the center of each snowflake. Here's a closeup:

The main panel was cut from my 25 Days of Christmas 6x6 paper pad and matted with Early Espresso. I wrapped a piece of Always Artichoke seam binding around the top part before adhering the three snowflakes on foam dimensionals. Finally, I stamped the gorgeous sentiment from Bright Spirits in Early Espresso and then secured the panel to my white card base with foam dimensionals. Very simple, but I love how it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by so say hello...I hope you have a wonderful weekend and a fabulous day!

Not only green when summer's here, but also when 'tis cold and drear...O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree! Thy leaves are so unchanging...

Happy Wednesday, y'all!! How's your week going so far? I'm home with a couple of sick kiddos, but I thought I'd post a card that I made last week for this week's Viva la Verve Sketch. Click on the sketch below to visit the challenge thread.

Here's my card, using the gorgeous O Christmas Tree set:

I recently picked up this gorgeous paper from Simple Stories and thought it would be perfect with my Verve...love it! I stamped the wreath in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and then colored the flowers with Copic Markers. Then I added some glitter, Stickles, and Glossy Accents, and popped the bow up on dimensionals. Here's a closeup:

I also used some Nestabilities for the shapes on my card, as well as some Copic dyed seam binding to finish it off. Don't forget to play along with the Viva la Verve Challenges...you can see them all HERE. There's some new Verve in town, and you could win some of your own! Thanks for stopping by today...have a fabulous one!
