We've tried to wash our hands of all this...

Happy Tuesday, peeps! It's time again for another Jacksonbelle Embellishments Tuesday challenge. This week, we're creating Spring cards! Yeah, super hard, right? *wink*

I used this adorable little stamp from Imaginisce with a sentiment from Verve. I love the new Pink Paislee paper that Lindsey ordered...I decided on this one called Cutie Pie. Yum!

Don't move too fast, people, just take it slow...Don't get ahead, just jump into it...

Good morning, party people! Today is a fun day...it's time for the Unity Inspirational Blog Hop! I'm not supposed to be chatty, so here's my card...I am in love with it, and it took 15 minutes (GO ME!). Whatchathink?

Stamps: Leave a Trail (Unity Stamp Company)

Ink: Versamagic Jumbo Java (Tsukineko)

For once, I can say, this is mine, you can't take it...as long as I know I have love, I can make it...

Happy Thursday, happy people! I'm headed over to my girlfriend's for a craft day and to kiss on baby Olivia (check her out HERE...is she not ADORABLE??), but before I go I have a couple of quick little Whipper Snapper cards to show you. The other day I stamped out a few of the images from Anna's new Little Critters set and watercolored them, so I decided to make them into some simple little cards.

I stamped this cute little elephant in Stazon on watercolor paper, then watercolored him with reinkers and a waterbrush. Is he not the CUTEST? I paired him with this sentiment from Sending Happy Thoughts, and added some brads and twine for a little sumpthin. The bashful blue card base measures 4.25" square. I haven't used this color in almost 2 years (since making 40 pocket card invites for my sister-in-law's baby shower! *grin*), but I quite like it now. Maybe you'll see it more...

Next I inked up this cute little giraffe:
Love him!! I'll tell ya a secret...to make watercoloring him EASY, I did a wash of Soft Sky, diluted with LOTS of water over the whole image. Yep, right over the giraffe! Once he was dry, I added the yellow, again over the whole giraffe, not worrying about his spots. I knew they'd be brown, and that the brown would cover up the yellow, so I didn't stress. Then I added the grass, and once it was all dry, I went back in with my blender pen (less water=more control) and colored the brown parts. Super easy, pain-free watercoloring! As long as you start with your lightest color and let each area completely dry, you're golden! Instead of waiting, I usually work on 2-3 images at the same time to keep me occupied. *wink*

So I added the sentiment from Little Critters, as well as some twine and a button. I had this ribbon on my desk and really liked the contrast of the ribbon with the twine, so I just went with it. Kinda fun, I think!

Ok, so I gotta go pack some stuff (what to take???? I'm stressing...), so I'll catch you later! Have a wonderful day!

But I can see the countryside...you can be rich when you’re poor...

Hey yall! I'm happy to be off the couch and feeling better...thanks for all the sweet words! I'm about to head to bed, just wanted to post a little eye candy for you night owls (and early risers)!

I've had several birthday cards to make lately, and Patricia Birthdaycake has been calling my name. I love the color combo I ended up with on this one.
Sitting next to each other were my Baja Breeze and Groovy Guava inkpads, and they looked so happy together! So I decided to watercolor this image (after stamping it in Stazon on watercolor paper) with my reinkers and waterbrush. I used a blender pen in some of the tiny places for more control...much easier! The Happy Birthday sentiment fit perfectly on the Kraft panel, and I finished it all off with three small flatbacked pearls. I am sooooooo addicted to those things!

Ok, it's late and I am soooo not a morning person...better get my beauty sleep! My Bella order will be here later this week and I (for the first time EVAH!) ordered a few things I already had (shhhh), so stay tuned for some blog candy, k? Have a fabulous day!

Missed the Saturday dance...Heard they crowded the floor...Couldn't bear it without you...Don't get around much anymore...

Hey yall! Sorry I haven't been posting much lately...I had 2 sick boys last week, and now I'm holding down the couch. (b00) So if I don't post much over the next few days, please bear with me!

In other news, AJ tagged me to post the 6th picture in the 6th folder of my picture files. I haven't put my pics on this new computer yet, so I didn't have 6 folders! So I just started at the top and counted to 6. Here she goes!

This pic was taken last Tuesday of Thelma (my mom's donkey) and her 4 hour old baby, Murphy Patrick (Something) Badonkadonk. There's another name in there, I just can't remember what it is. *grin* Anywho, he is just the CUTEST little thing...tiny body and long, long legs, and he loves to run! Here's a close-up:

Isn't he a DOLL? So sweet.

Ok, anywho, apparently these tagging games have rules and here they are:

•Open your photo folder on your computer
•Open the 6th folder of photos
•Select the 6th picture
•Post the picture on your blog with a description
•Invite six friends to join the challenge
•Link your six friends to your blog post

I will tag:
Amber
Robyn
Becky
Taylor
Mercy
Bethany

I know, I normally don't do these things, but I got tired of watching Law & Order... Hope to see you around soon!

Hey baby, I hear the blues a-callin', Tossed salad and scrambled eggs ...

Happy Saturday yall! I am running out the door to go shopping with my mom & sister (Happy Birthday, Shelley!), but I wanted to post real quick and let you guys know I'm still alive! *grin* Here is my card for the latest Bellariffic Friday challenge, which you can see HERE.

I used a layout from Amy's blog, which I just found and MAN, OH MAN! Does her stuff ROCK or what? Anywho, all the papers on this card except for the kraft and white are from the Basic Grey Marrakech collection and the image is Chichiboulie's Baby Buttercup (So cute!)

Thanks for hanging with me...I'll post more soon - I've been a bizzy bee in my stamp room! Have a wonderful weekend!

Every little swallow, every chickadee...Every little bird in the tall oak tree...

Happy Tuesday, yall! It's time for another Jacksonbelle Tuesday Challenge, and this week is a fun one! Kisa did a fun tutorial for the Jbelle Blog, so we are all casing her! It was tough, but I finially decided on this card to case. Here's my version:

I pulled out my Birds Galore set from Inkadinkado (love that set!) and inked it up with various Versamagic Dew Drops. After stamping it onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, I cut it out with my nestabilities and added a Rose Red mat. Using my mat pack and paper piercer, I pierced a border around the white panel, then adhered it to my 5 1/4" card base. The finishing touch was 2 prima flowers. I painted the white one with Pixie Dust Shimmerz Blingz, and accented the pink one with Hottie Pink Shimmerz Blingz.

{Sidenote...Shimmerz are on sale in the Jacksonbelle store!! There are 4 new Shimmerz colors and 2 new Blingz, and they're all 15% off until Friday at midnight! You can see them all HERE.}

Anywho, after the flowers dried, I added a clear dew drop to the center and adhered it to the card. Super easy!

Well, I gotta get back to working on some projects, so I'll have to say bye for now. Don't forget to check out what the rest of the team did for this challenge.
Have a wonderful day!

Right now I'm on this lakeshore...and I'm sittin' in the sun...

Happy Monday, yall! I hope you guys had a wonderful weekend. Today is the start of our Spring Break...and boy do I need some patience already! *grin*

I do have some fun news to share, though! A while back, Anna Wight asked me to be one of the Featured Designers for Whipper Snapper Designs. How fun is that? Every month, Anna releases two new sets that are available in deeply etched cling mounted sets or bare rubber sets. And they are stinkin' adorable! This month is no exception...when I saw these Little Critters and Sending Happy Thoughts, I fell in love.

I have two cards to show you today using the new releases. This first card uses the branch from Little Critters and the bird house from Sending Happy Thoughts. Charmaine inspired me to do this with her card HERE.

The house and branch images were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. I added some Stickles to the flowers and Diamond Glaze to the leaves for a little something extra. I love the fonts Anna chose this go round...they make me happy!

Next is a card using my favorite image from Sending Happy Thoughts. Who wouldn't love a worm with a cowboy hat??
I used Taylor's Cupcake Challenge for this week as a jumping off point for my card. I stamped the worm (methinks he needs a name, Anna!) in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored him with Copics. Some stitching, ribbon, and the cute little sentiment was all I needed to finish it off. He just makes me giggle.

Cool news (copied from Anna's Blog): Whipper Snapper is offering a special on Anna's cling sets until March 20th! Pick up any of her cling mounted sets for $14.99 each (regularly $19.99).

Gotta love a sale!

I've never seen you looking so gorgeous as you did tonight...I've never seen you shine so bright...you were amazing...

Happy Friday, yall! You know what that means....another Bellariffic Friday challenge! This week, we were to use the colors in this Collage Press paper and use a button. You know how I love my buttons!

And here's the card I created:

I really wanted to work with black, gray, white, and red so the red really stood out. The whole thing really was centered around the sentiment, which I just LOVE. Then I chose Mwahbella, stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copics. A little ribbon, a button, and some bling, and VOILA! Clean and simple with a pop.

You can check out the rest of the projects submitted for this challenge HERE. The sistahs and Bellariffic Babes really outdid themselves!

I have another quick card to show you today...I colored this image the other day when I was playing with Raspberry Fizz, Kraft, Black, and Cream.

I stamped Stella Doing a Balancing Act in Memento Black, sketched in a tile floor (a little wonky...whoops), and colored the image with Copic markers. I was going for a Mojo Monday Sketch (#73 I think), but it didn't quite work out. Sometimes you have to just go with it. *grin* Simple stuff...just added some texture with my Swiss Dots embossing folder and Primas with Hot Lips Baubles in the centers.

Well, I hate to run, but I have laundry and cleaning to do...fun stuff! Have a wonderful weekend, and I'll catch you later!

Cuz we belong together now, yeah...forever united here somehow, yeah...

Hey y'all! It has been a wild and crazy week here in the Teubner house, but fun as usual. Tonight my sis took my dad and I to see The Italian Girl in Algiers, which was totally fabulous. It's kind of like a "gateway opera"...it's a comedy and very slapstick. We think she's trying to suck us in slowly. *wink*

Anywho, I made this card earlier today for Julee's Mojo Monday challenge for this week. I had this Crafty Huggabugg image in my "halfway colored" stash, so I thought I'd finish it up and put it to good use.
Is she the CUTEST or WHAT? She was colored with a combination of Peerless Watercolors from the Complete collection and the Bella Blend. The best part was that the yummy fuschia coordinates with Raspberry Fizz cardstock from Papertrey. SCORE! The sentiment is from Billboardabella's words (love that you can purchase them seperately), and I added three Diamond Baubles on the side.

Ok, it's supah late and I'm poopedabella, so I will catch you guys later! Have a wonderful day!

I wandered around, and finally found the somebody who...Could make me be true...

Hey yall! It's time for another Jacksonbelle Tuesday challenge...this week is a sketch and a PRIZE! If you play along with us, you might win some goodies! Check out THIS POST for all the deets.

So, since I have been so good and following sketches and all...you had to know it was time for me to "creatively interpret" (aka totally rework) the sketch. *grin* I wanted to use this stamp from the Beautiful Fairies set from Inkadinkado, so I had to (ahem) adjust a few things. You can still see the basic sketch though, right?
I used my new Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday paper (both sides shown here), and did lots of stitching to my card base. After I stamped the fairy, I colored her with Copics and cut her out with my Rectangle Nestabilities. Then I cut some scalloped rectangles and embossed them with my Floral Screen Cuttlebug folder. To finish it off, I added some lace, Primas, and Pixie Dust Shimmerz to the image and the center dots. The dots and sentiment are from Stamping Bella.

Beginning today and ending Friday the 13th at 3pm EST, Jacksonbelle Embellishments is having a contest! Play along with us by using today's sketch, link your card in the contest post on the Jbelle blog and you will have a chance to win an awesome prize package! The only rules are to use the sketch, link your card by 3pm on Friday the 13th and HAVE FUN!!! A random winner will be drawn Friday night and announced on the Jbelle Blog Saturday morning!

Need a little inspiration? Be sure to check out the Design Teams's creations! You will notice that we all used Inkadinkado stamps! You will find by visiting Lindsey's store, she has put ALL the Inka stamps on sale!!

Have a fabulous Tuesday!

Triumph over sadness...Death where is thy sting...Gloom has turn to gladness...Risen is our King...

Good morning, yall! I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. The weather here has been just gorgeous, so the boys have been enjoying playing outside lots.

Last night was the Verve release party, and we had a blast just hanging out and chatting. I have lots of release samples to share, but I'll just show you a couple of my very favorites today.

This card uses last week's Sketch Challenge on SCS and the Everlasting Life set. I really like the color combo I ended up with.

Isn't that cross GORGEOUS? Julee did a fabulous job with this release (as always). I stamped the image in Brilliance Graphite Black and colored with Copics.

And here's a card I did with the Practically Perfect set.

The cute little bunny was stamped in Black Stazon on Hot Press Watercolor paper and watercolored with reinkers and a waterbrush. You can't really tell in the picture, but I used a light blue from my Pearlescent Watercolors around the image, so she's nice and sparkly.

Make sure you check out all the new sets and bundles HERE, and eye candy from the Divas and Guest Divas in the Verve Gallery. Hope you have a fabulous Monday!

Don't you think I'm so sexy... I'm dressed so fresh so clean...(So fresh and so clean clean)

It's FRIDAYYYYY, Sistahs! I'm so glad. The sun is shining (it's 80 degrees here), birds are tweeting, and there are new stamps at Stamping Bella!! What could be better? Emily has added yet another line to the Stamping Bella brand...this one is called Ketto. You can read all about it and see samples HERE, and you can see all the stamps HERE. I am having a hard time figuring out a favorite...YIKES! Right now I'm loving Agnes, Charlotte, Ivy, Margarita, Suzette, and Tatiana...if I can't have them all, those will be on my first order. *grin*

Amidst all that excitement, don't forget that it's Bellariffic Friday! Each Monday Em posts a challenge on the bloggabella, and you have till Thursday evening to email your entry. Then on Friday, she posts all the fabulous cards and projects for all to see. Here's the inspiration piece she posted on Monday:
Isn't that gorgeous! I love that blue...all those colors, really. It was so fresh and clean (reminds me of that song...hehe), so I knew I wanted to create my card with that same feeling. Here's what I came up with:
You like it? It's not very often (ok never) that I make a card using no Chocolate Chip or Black cardstock, so take note! *wink* I cut the circles out with my Nestabilities first, then stamped Daisybella in Memento Tuxedo Black. Before I colored her, I added the Happy Birthday sentiment using my Stampamajig (love that thing). Now, the "birthday" part was over to the right further, so I just cut the sentiment into 2 words and placed each one where I wanted. I colored her with Copic markers, and after I added some Diamond Stickles, I finished off the daisy center with a Goldfish Bauble. The ribbon is actually the Marshamllow ribbon, but I don't see it in stock. I colored it with a green copic marker. But guess what? There's a perfect substitute...Polka Dot Limeade Ribbon! Whodathunk? *grin* A little piercing to the bottom corners of the card finished it off nicely, I think.

To see all the projects that the Bellariffic Babes and participants made this week, check out the Bloggabella. Don't forget to comment...Emily is giving away $50 Bella Bucks to a lucky commenter on her post HERE. So go...comment...have fun...and have a wonderful weekend!

But I'd settle for an honest mistake in the name of one sweet love...

Good morning, everyone! I have a quick little card for you today before I jump back into my stamp room...got some orders to fill and finishing up goodies for the Verve release. Fun stuff! Anywho, I had this Peony Bittybloom image stamped and the base colors watercolored in my stash, so I thought I'd finish it and create a card.

Isn't she fun? I watercolored her with reinkers and a waterbrush, then added more color with my Stampin' Up markers. I love love love this image! Peonies are one of my favorite flowers, so I knew I had to have this one. I cut her out after she was colored, and popped her up over my oval panels. Added some sponging, lace, and pearl flatbacks and I was all finished! As a final touch, I accented the image with some Candlelight Shimmers....love that stuff!

Anywho, I gotta get back to work...have a fabulous Wednesday!

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

I'm a thousand miles away but girl, tonight you look so pretty...yes you do...

Hey yall, how's it going? I just wanted to post real quick and assure you that I'm still alive! *wink* I will be posting my Jacksonbelle Tuesday Challenge soon, but for your patience, I have a sneak preview of some new Verve for ya. Sound good?

This card previews images from two new sets to be released by Verve on March 8th...Beautiful Kindness and Circular Sayings. This is Verve's biggest release to date...can you say EIGHT sets and FIVE Plain Janes? WOWEE!

For this card, I decided to paper piece the butterflies from Beautiful Kindness with one of the solid (ish) pages from my Basic Grey  Porcelain 6x6 pad and then pop them up over the Cream panel. The background paper is from the same collection. Lots of sponging and stitching gave me the shabby chic look I was going for, and since I don't have any Chocolate Chip taffeta ribbon, I decided to color my white ribbon with a Copic Marker. The sentiment is from Circular Sayings.

So often I have people ask what kind of ink to use with clear stamps. I own a ton of different brands, and most of them work great with my high quality photopolymer stamps like Verve, MFT, and The Cats Pajamas (to name a few). Although my Brilliance inks are my favorite for coloring, pigment inks are not really my favorite for solid image stamping since they do require heat setting and don't tend to dry very quickly. But what stinks about that is pigment inks give you the best coverage. I have several Colorbox Chalk Cat's Eyes, and while I don't mind them, they leave a strange whitish finish to the image. My very favorite by far is my Versamagic Dew Drops by Tsukineko. The colors are rich and vibrant, they dry quickly, give great coverage, and are very affordable. They also don't "spit" when you lift your stamp off the cardstock. Has anyone noticed that with some juicy inks and clear stamps? You ink it up all good, press the stamp down, and if the stamp sticks a little, the ink will kind of splatter on your cardstock when you raise the stamp off the paper. Anywho, these don't do that. I just thought I'd give you that little tidbit...just for fun! Have a fabulous day!
