I need you like water, like breath, like rain...

Hey guys! I am the official worst blogger EVER. Seriously! I haven't had much time to stamp, much less blog! So sorry. I do have two peeks of a new release from Unity, which will be available tonight! I'm kinda partial to this set, called Flaunt it Chickie, cause it's the one I'm working with, but it's so stinkin' cute! Here's my card.

How cute is this??? That sentiment just cracks me up. I used Julee's Mojo Monday sketch from this week (I know! I did one!!), and I really like how it turned out. I also got to break out my new Forest Cuttlebug Embossing Folder...they came yesterday!! Yep, you guessed it. I ordered all of them. *grin*

Here's another peek from the same set. I broke out the Leafy Branch folder for this one.

I used last week's sketch challenge (I didn't mean to get that far behind!!). Look at that plumage! Here's a close-up.
I broke out the colored Stickles on this one...Waterfall, Fruit Punch, and Eucalyptus. I love how I can layer them over Copic Markers and it doesn't alter the color.

Stop by the member company forum on SCS tonight for the release party! Here are the deets:
PARTY TIME: 6-8 Pacific
7-9 Mountain
8-10 Central
9-11 EST
You know the drill, we're gonna chat, hang out, be silly, and try to talk Angela into giving away some free stamps (which is usually pretty easy, no?)! Can't wait!

Have a fabulous Wednesday!

This is my quest, to follow that star... no matter how hopeless, no matter how far...

That song makes me laugh...remember when Michelle Pfeiffer sang it on Up Close and Personal? Cracks me up every time.

Anywho, I got some more stamping time last night and decided to combine Jody's Dare to Get Dirty Challenge with Julee's Mojo Monday sketch for this week. My new oval nestabilities were begging to be let out of the package, so of course, I had to oblige. *grin*

This is the first card I've made with my new Quotopia set from Inque Boutique. I've loved that set ever since I saw a card that Amy Westerman made. I swear that girl enables me like crazy! Anywho, I love this set! Yall know how I am with quotes and stuff, so I had to have this one. This particular quote reminded me of Julee, so I had to pair it with her sketch. The card measures 5" square, and I don't think you can see in the photo, but the vanilla cardstock is actually shimmery, so it has this nice sparkle about it. The rest is pretty straightforward!

In other news, my friend Jason has some new music on his MySpace page from his new about to be released album. Go give him a listen!

I will be posting something very special tomorrow that you won't want to miss, so make sure you come check it out, k? Have a wonderful Thursday!

Stamps: Quotopia (Inque Boutique)
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, Pearlized Vanilla
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Bella Pearl Flatbacks, Corner Rounder, Nestabilities, May Arts Ribbon, Pop Dots, Textile Embossing Folder, Jumbo Sponge Dauber

But if you like dancing, I'll make it rain rhythm, and rhyme, and melodies, child...

Hey guys! Thanks for all the congrats & stuff about the Elzybells team. I feel loved! *grin*
Today my mind was on babies, since my BFF Peyton is due in September, but may be having her sweetie Olivia sooner than that. (sidenote: If you are the praying type, please keep Peyton & Olivia's health in yours. Good thoughts are awesome, too! Thanks!)

Ok, back to stamping. *wink*

I decided to use the Baby First set from My Favorite Things for this card. Love this set and its tiny baby images! JulieHRR issued a challenge for the Dirty Dare 2008, and I thought this would be perfect!
Cute, huh? I am pretty happy with how this turned out, white space and all. I stamped the mother and baby lamb and sentiment onto my Fabriano card base. After I watercolored the image and let it dry, I pierced a border around the image for a little more emphasis. The finishing touch is just a bit of Pink Taffeta ribbon. Love it!

I am fast and furious working on all the challenges for a "Day in the Life of a Dirty Girl." You can see all the info HERE if you're a Splitcoast Fan Club Member. Not a member? All the details are HERE. It's totally worth it!

Hope you have a fabulous day...see you tomorrow!

ETA: There you go! I found all the links but 1...Pam...if you're out there, please link it up in the comments so I'll know where to find you!!

So today I thought I'd show you the projects I sent in with my application.

This card uses the Coffee Friends stamp, which I watercolored with my waterbrush and reinkers. The sentiment is from A Muse.

I loved this boy image (called Boy Footie) for a card for my oldest son. He's colored with Copic Markers, and I used a Sketch for You to Try from a couple of weeks ago as the layout. Loved the Verve stars & sentiment with this cutie.

My favorite for last, this is a 5x7 journal that I made last weekend with my Bind It All. It took forever, but it was totally worth it. It started out to be a diet journal for myself, but after I finished, I decided to give it to Julianna for her birthday. I'm so glad I did, cause she loved it.

Here's a detail shot of the image (which I can't find to link! Sorry!)
I colored the image with Copic markers, and added Liquid Applique to the cake slice, cake, and cupcakes. There's Diamond Glaze on the creme layer of the cake, on the plate & platter, and on the cherries. Then I added some shimmer with my Copic Spica Glitter Pen to Elzy's dress and spoon. It was so fun to do!

The rest of the journal was pretty easy, just adding layers of Imaginisce paper, cardstock, and the Dear Diary letters from my Cuttlebug Red Tag Alpha. Oh, and LOTS of ribbon!

I hope you guys like my projects! I'm excited to get to work on some new Elzy stuff. Thanks for sharing my excitement. Have a fabulous rest of your weekend!

It's like I've waited my whole life for this one night...

It's time for another Sketch for You to Try! Sorry this is a bit late for those of you who checked this morning. Josh has been sick the last couple of days so I didn't get any stamping time yesterday.

I inked up my new Karen Lockhart stamp...man I have wanted one of these forever! I found them at Stamp Asylum last week, so I had to play with it for the sketch.

Whatcha think? Sorry, I had to come back and finish...we were hurrying to leave to go visit the in laws.

I had such fun shopping at Stamp Asylum. They had tons of Inka stuff, Karen Lockhart, Unity, MFT, American Art Stamps, and a ton more. They will also ship stuff (and only charge actual shipping cost), so no worries about spending gas $$. Just call them if you'd like to order something.

Ok, we're off to eat dinner, so I gotta run! Make sure you check out Jen & Jessie's samples on Jen's Blog, Amy R, Amy S, and Susan's cards using this week's sketch. Carole will catch up later this week since she's been playing at CHA. Have a fabulous weekend!

Look into my eyes, you will see......

Sorry, couldn't resist. Gotta love Bryan Adams!

Happy Thursday, people! It's a good day. Project Runway started last night, Shear Genius was on, and I got to stamp! WAHOO!!!!!

Today is the kickoff of Verve's July Project Parade Challenge, which is to make an Artist Trading Card. I love making these little guys...so fun! If you need some help, here's a tutorial that Jen wrote on Splitcoast.

I was driving yesterday and for some odd reason was thinking about purple. Purple is usually one of those colors I just don't like to use when I am stamping. It used to be my favorite color, but I just can't bring myself to use it on my cards! I decided that I was going to challenge myself and use Eggplant on my project.

So I picked out Rose Red, Saffron, and Eggplant. I really like it!! I stamped and embossed the flowers with each color, cut them out, and popped them up on my ATC. Add a little ribbon, the sentiment, and we're done!

But no....I couldn't stop there! I decided to make a full card out of my ATC. It turned out clean and simple...quite fun!

Soooo...wanna know how to win $15 in Verve Bucks? Check out my post on the Verve Blog HERE for all the details! Hope you guys have a fabulous day!!

The day I fall in love....

Happy 10th birthday, Julianna!

They say I'm goin' crazy, They say I got a lot of water in my brain...

YAY! I finally got my picture to upload!

I just have a quick little post for you today; I'm sleepy! The first couple of days back to work after a week of vacation = no stamping time. So here's a card I made a while back for Lindsey's Ways to Use it Challenge to use bird stamps. It's Lila's fault, really...she made me buy this set.

I inked up the birdie from Birds Galore (sadly not in stock at the moment) with three different chalk inks. The bird's belly is inked up with Chestnut Roan cat eye chalk inkpad, then I added Dark brown on the back, top of the head, and tail. The "leaves" are Aquamarine cat's eye and Agean Blue Versamagic. (I find that all my Inkadinkado clear stamps work better with chalk ink.) I stamped him on Pearlized Cream shimmer cardstock and embossed it with my Rectangle Nesties. The card base is an A Muse notcard I got at Stamp Salado in June, and the final touch is the A Muse sentiment (one of my faves!) in the bottom right corner in Dark Brown Colorbox Chalk ink.

Hopefully you guys are having a great week...and fingers crossed for stamping time tomorrow! Thanks for visiting!

Stamps: Birds Galore (Inkadinkado), Sentiment from A Muse
Paper: Madeira Blue 4 Bar Note Card (A Muse), Pearlized Cream, Prism Suede Brown Dark
Ink: Colorbox Dark Brown, Chestnut Roan, Aquamarine, Versamagic Agean Blue
Accessories: Nestabilities, Sponges, Stampamajig, Pop Dots

I may be the first to say that I don't have a clue, I don't have all the answers...

Seriously, I'm trying to write a blog post here, but I can't upload my cute little card. Maybe later...but right now I'm off to bed. :)

Sunday, July 13, 2008

Then you stumbled around for a good ten minutes, and I said I'd never seen anyone look so dumb before...

Ok, I am going crazy! I seriously thought I had shared this card with you, but it's not in my Splitcoast Gallery or in my blog history (that I can find), so here goes!

This is one of my favorite cards I made for the My Favorite Things release earlier this month. What's funny is that it was the last one I did, and it kind of got thrown together at the last hour. Isn't that weird how that works sometimes?

I based the layout from an old MFT Sketch Challenge (#11 I think?), but left out a circle panel. The tub image is from the My Favorite Things Presents line (this one's by Annie LaPoint), and it's one of my faves to color. I wish I had a cute diamond bathtub like that! Anywho, I stamped the image twice and colored & cut one out to pop up on top (say that 3 times fast). This is such a great look to give your cards a little interest, but it's easy! Then I added the layers and piercing. Of course I tried to find a spot for ribbon, but it just didn't work this time.

Well I'm back to playing Wii with the kiddos...it's my last day of vacation...back to work tomorrow (boo). Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

Stamps: Be Calm, Behind the Scenes (My Favorite Things)
Paper: PTI White, Basic Black, Pretty In Pink, Tempting Turquoise
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Pretty In Pink
Accessories: Copic Markers, Stickles, Pop Dots, Nestabilities, Cuttlebug Textile Embossing Folder, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack

Anna, Anna, Glamourous Anna, Anna Nicole...

Look at me!! It's Sketch for You to Try day, and not only am I posting early, but I stuck to the sketch! YAY ME!!

So my week off didn't have as much stamping as I hoped, but I did get to spend some time with the fam, which was great! Over queso yesterday, Jen & Susan were telling me that this sketch was a toughie, so I was out to prove them wrong! Tell me what you think...

Fun, huh? I know, it's not my usual style, and I don't think I've ever used felt on a card, but I really like it! The other day I picked up some K & Co. Wild Saffron paper & felt stickers, thinking it was time I tried them out. Love them!! The paper comes with the cute decorative die cut edges, so I just cut it to size (about 5" square) and matted it. The entire card measures 5 1/4" square.

Since I don't have circle Nestabilities (YET!), I cut the outside circle 1/2" bigger than the inside with my Creative Memories Circle Cutter and scalloped the edges with my corner rounder. Took a little concentration, but I got 'er done! *grin* Then I finished off the card with a sentiment from the Verve set Here for You, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite sets (this week)!

Ok, I'll quit blabbing, thanks for coming to check out my blog today! Make sure you check out Jen's & Jessie's cards, as well as Amy, Carole, Susan, and our newest SFYTT team member Amy Rohl! If you play with us, don't forget to use the keyword SFYTT so we can all check out your creations. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Stamps: Petals & Stems, Here for You (Verve)
Paper: Barely Banana, Ruby Red, Suede Brown Dark (Prism), K & Co Wild Saffron
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: K & Co Felt Stickers, Corner Rounder, Dimensional Glue Dots, CM Circle Cutter

I gotta make my mark, gotta run it hard, I want you to remember me...

Hey guys, Happy Friday!! I had a fun night last night at the Texas Rangers ball game, and even saw Jeremy, Twilley, and Brian from the Bachelorette! Woohoo! But boy was it hot out there! UGH!

I have been working on this project for my Unity Inspiration Challenge all week, and just finally got it all put together. The minute I saw these birdies from Birds of a Feather, I knew I wanted to pair them with my Sweet Branch collection from Crate Paper. So the collection is the inspiration piece for the week!

Here's 1/2 of the set. I used the Large Square Scalloped Nestabilites to make notecards, and added some piercing details. The images are colored with Copic Markers, with a little Diamond Stickles for sparkle.

Here are the other 3 cards...I think this set will be a cute little gift. The sentiment is also from Birds of a Feather, and I used my Stampamajig to make sure they were lined up correctly.

I used six different strips of the Sweet Branch papers so each card would be different, but still coordinate. I really like how they turned out!

If you have time to play, please remember to use your keywords (UIC08, Unity) and link up to the Challenge thread so we can all check out your creations!

I hope you have a wonderful Friday! Make sure you come back tomorrow for a Sketch for You to Try!

Mama Mia, here I go again.....

Happy Tuesday, folks! It's me...the missing blogger. I've been all over...playing with the boys, going swimming, and doing all those fun vacation-from-work type things. Not much stamping time, though...boo. I hope to have some tonight or tomorrow. Fingers crossed, right?

So today is one of my favorite challenge days...the Color Challenge! And to top it all off, the guest hostess is my girl Carole. WAHOO!! So of course I had to play. Here's my card!

Yes I used a Stampin' Up set, don't fall over! I was looking through my sets trying to figure out what to use and I thought I'd dust off one of my less used sets, Refuge and Strength. I love the little leaf image stamp in this set, so I used it to make a little border around my main panel.

Ok, I'm running back into the stamp room before anyone tries to make me fix a snack! Hopefully I'll be back soon!

And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air...

Happy 4th of July, guys! I am about to run over to my mom's to swim and do fireworks, but I wanted to share the Friday Unity Inspiration Challenge with you first.

Last week during the Unity Release Party, Maggie was sketching out some ideas for layouts for the new releases she was ordering. I poked and prodded her to share them, so she decided to!! After getting her permission, I thought it would be fun to use these for the challenge this week1 Fun, huh?

Here are her three sketches to choose from.

Now, Sketch #1 and #3 were supposed to be rectangle cards, but somehow they morphed into squares when I saved them. If you like them square, though, feel free to keep them that way!

And here's my sample using Mix Up of Cuteness. Love this set!

Ok, the fam is dragging me away, so off I go! Don't forget to use the keywords UIC07 and Unity!

I'm headed for the station with my pack on my back...I'm tired of transportation in the back of a hack...

Happy Thursday, peeps! It's especially happy for me since I am off work until Monday the 14th!! WAHOOO!!!!! Hopefully I'll be able to sneak some stamp time while I'm off...fingers crossed!

I have a card from the My Favorite Things release to show you today...say hi to Flopsey, the new MFT Character! Isn't he cute? This mini set is called I'm Pullin' for You, and I just love it.

I had this image stamped and colored, so this card didn't take me much time at all. I decided at the last minute to use the SCS Sketch Challenge for this week and it came together in a snap! I used one of my current favorite color combos - Pumpkin, Olive, and Chocolate. YUM!

Flopsey was stamped in Brilliance Graphite Black on my new FAVORITE THING........Fabriano Artistico Hot Press Bright White Watercolor Block...OMG you guys...this stuff is AMAZING! I was loving watercoloring my images, but had a hard time getting a good, clean image with the texture on the Cold Press paper I had been buying. Anna recommended Hot Press, so I thought I'd give it a try. It is soooo smooth and soooo soft!! LOVE IT!!!! I don't know why I didn't get it earlier. Ok, enough sneezing. Back to Stamp Gushing. *wink*

Anywho, make sure you check out the MFT New Releases HERE. I had so much fun with this month's release and still have tons to show you. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hmm....not quite how I imagined in my head. But I like how it turned out. My 8 year old liked it, so there's the seal of approval!

Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken...your best friend always sticking up for you, even when I know youre wrong

Hey peeps! Sorry my MFTeaser is so late...it has been crazy busy! Again! I know I keep saying that, and I'm sure you're all feeling the same way. Anywho...

It's time to show you a new set, which will be available from My Favorite Things on Wednesday night after the Cocktail Party in the Forum. The set is called Bunny Slippers, and it's adorable! I don't have a really good Get Well set, so this fits the bill perfectly!

I used Cindy's MFT Sketch for this week. This card measures 5 1/4" square, so that will give you an idea of the size of the image. I used Daisy Bucket Sweet Marabella collection papers with touches of Prism cardstock. I love the bright colors, and the orange and green just look awesome together.

Ok, so housekeeping....I have seen several requests on forums for stampers and bloggers to list the specific colors of Copic markers they use on each project. Sometimes this is just a few, other times it's a big long list, which is why I haven't done it. Is that something you'd like to see? Let me know, ok?

Back to stamps! Don't forget to join us for the MFT Cocktail Release Party HERE on Wednesday, July 2nd from 9-11 p.m. Eastern time. July marks MFT's 2nd birthday, and Kim's 40th, so we'll be celebrating all over the place!

*$2.00 US shipping for orders under $40, and for Intl orders and US orders over $40, they'll receive the same $2.75 discount until July 15th.

*FIRST 50 orders will receive a full sized stickles glitter glue!

*The Girl Who Wants It All special for the July Collection is $49.95.

Can't wait to see you there!!
