Painters...and a GIVEAWAY!

Hey, y'all! There's not a whole lot of time for blogging these days since I have a Senior, a Freshman, and a three year old. But I partnered with a local business here in Midlothian, TX for a fun post and a giveaway, and I wanted to tell you about it!!

I know I'm not the only one who gets a wild hair to make a project, but then halfway through I realize I don't have a couple of things I need. That's where Home Run Deliveries comes in! I know it says food delivery, but the awesome thing is...they will deliver just about anything!!! So if I run out of adhesive or need something from Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or The Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie, guess what?? They've got you covered. They will even text (or call) while they're shopping to make sure you get exactly what you need. Cool, huh? I can't tell you how many times I've been home with a sick kid and needed Tylenol, Pedialyte, or Lysol. Now I can just go online and send a special request. I also love that they will deliver food or treats to the teachers at school! It makes my single mama life so much easier. This is Joey, the owner and brains behind HRD!

I'm sure he thought I was nuts when I asked for some interesting items. I wanted to try stamping with celery and apples, but someone (ahem, my children) ate all the apples before I could use them. After we covered the table with an old sheet, we laid out all our supplies. Dean was so excited!

He was really more into painting on the watercolor paper than stamping with the celery. We even tried out stamping with straws and cookie cutters!

Here's his beautiful work of art! I'm thinking we might cut this up into card fronts and add sentiments. It looks pretty cool!

This was my first attempt at stamping with celery. It wasn't sliced completely straight, but it worked! Note: Don't do what I did here and just smash your celery into the paint. Dab it on with a foam brush...that worked MUCH BETTER.

It makes a pretty cool rose shape, though!

We tried out a couple of different color combinations, and found some that we really liked. The purple and cranberry worked extremely well together!

 

Now our projects are drying so we can make some cards! I'll post those in a bit when they're finished.
