Happy Friday, Sistahs!! Remember that show?? I loved it when I was a kid! Anywho, now that I am back, you know what that means, right??? BELLARIFFIC FRIDAY!! YAY!! This week's theme was Back to School, so I dug through my stamps and found Bookwormabella...I love her! So here's my card:
I used Mojo Monday Sketch #119 as my starting point and got to work. My Early Bird paper from Cosmo Cricket had been calling me, so I pulled out a couple of pieces and chose some Copics to coordinate with the colors. I stamped Bookwormabella in Memento Black on Bella's Bestest Cream paper, then colored her up with Copics. I cut and embossed the image and mat with my Oval Nestabilities, then airbrushed the ground with W3 and around the top of the oval with BG0000.
Once I finished my main image, I realized it was too big to fit on a regular A2 card, *oops* so I cut my piece of patterned paper to 5" square. After the edges were sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, I matted it with Dark Chocolate cardstock, and added some faux stitching with my quilting doo-dad. Then I strayed from the sketch (surprise...) and cut a strip of the polka dot pattern to go all the way across the card. After sponging the edges, I matted it with Dark Chocolate cardstock punched with my Fiskars Upper Crest border punch, and faux stitched again. To add some texture, I wrapped some twine around the polka dot strip, then added a few brads in the upper left corner to balance the card a little. Finally, I mounted the whole shebang onto a 5 3/8" square Kraft card base.
So I hope you likey my return to Bellariffic Friday...I have soooo missed it! Don't forget to check out Emily's Blog for fabulous samples from the rest of the Babes and eye candy from da sistahood. Oh! Speaking of Babes...I am soooo excited that Jodi Collins is joining us! I am such a huge fan of her work, and she is just a sweetheart. So go say hi, k?
Ok, I really have to go...thanks for coming by to visit, and have a wonderful Friday!! MWAH!
