Haven't you heard what's new, there is a rumour going around that suddenly I've found you

What a fun surprise today! Check it out HERE.

There's a smile on my face, and a brand new light in my eyes...

How about an MFTeaser this fine Monday afternoon? See...I told you this week was full of them! *wink*

I don't have much to yap about, other than this card was easy and fun to make, and the song I'm listening to right now is awesome. The lyrics are below because I just couldn't resist sharing them. If you haven't heard of Ginny Owens, she's amazing. She writes most of her music, plays the piano, and is blind. Her stuff is awesome.

This card uses images from the new set called Can Ya Dig It, which will be available from My Favorite Things on Wednesday night. We'd love you to join us for the Cocktail Party on Wednesday, April 2 from 9-11 p.m. Eastern time. These always prove to be entertaining at the least...but come prepared to have a blast! We will also tell you how YOU can be the next MFT Guest Designer! You can find all the info HERE.

Stamps: Can Ya Dig It
Paper: Memory Box pre-folded card and cardstock, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Old Olive
Accessories: Cropadile, Offray Ribbon, Pop Dots, Waterbrush & reinkers, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack

Call Me Beautiful by Ginny Owens

I've been waiting
For a hero who's brave and strong-
Someone to love me,
Someone to tell me I belong,
So I pretend I'm satisfied,
And I stand watching on the sidelines,
Till You pull me into the light
And say, "It's Your turn now,
Welcome to your life!"

And You call me beautiful,
And say You've loved me all along,
And You've always held the keys to unlock my soul
Oh You call me beautiful

There's a smile on my face,
And a brand new light in my eyes,
It's a new day,
And I've never felt so alive-
I feel as if I could conquer anything,
Oh thats what Your love has done for me,
And now all I want to be,
Is everything You want me to be-

And You call me beautiful,
And say You've loved me all along,
And You've always held the keys
To unlock my soul, But I didn't know-
Now I can finally start to live,
Take those chances I have missed,
Things will be much different,
Now that I know
You call me beautiful

The story is better than I could dream after all,
Now this is reality
To know You and to hear You call me beautiful
Call me beautiful-
Now I can finally start to live,
Take those chances I have missed,
Things will be much different,
Now that I know-
Now that I know
You call me beautiful

Summertime and the livin' is easy...

It's that time again...yep, Sketch for You to Try time!! Jen has been on a circle kick lately, but this one was sooo fun! Of course I had to cut into my new Spring Branch Crate paper...isn't it YUMMY???

My wedding anniversary is this week, so I thought I'd make a card for Josh. He loves orange, which was perfect for this paper!

After glancing through my stamps, I decided on this image and sentiment from the Puppy Love Set from The Cats Pajamas. I love these stamps! After cutting my circle and watercoloring the image, I doodled a little border around the edges.

I really hope he likes this (he BETTER)! Make sure you guys check out Jen's blog for her sample and Joanne's sample, as well as Amy, Carole, and Susan's blogs for some more eye candy. Make sure you stay tuned next week, too...I have a little bit of news! Happy Saturday!

You're gonna miss this, you're gonna want this back...

Did anyone else cry their eyes out when Trace Adkins sang that song on the Celebrity Apprentice last night?? OMG! Me!!!!!!!!!!! Like a baby!! ugh.

I wanted to work on some challenges this week, so after looking through my stamps, Oh So Lovely with the Sketch Challenge was perfect!! (Pretend I didn't cheat on the color challenge...lol)

I stamped the flower in Versafine Onyx Black and then watercolored it. Perfect tall image for this sketch! I added panels in the appropriate colors (for the sketch), and thought the sentiment (from Carte Postale) would fit perfectly. I stamped the "Merci" in the blank white space in Versafine Onyx Black as well. Perfect fit!

After a few Diamond Stickles highlights...I think it turned out great! Hope you like it!

Stamps: Oh So Lovely, Carte Postale

Ken Lee....to deebahdibahdoutchoo....

What song is that??? Well, go to You Tube and search for Ken Lee. You'll find it. But go the bathroom first. *grin*

I'm sorry I disappeared for a few days. I don't have much fun stuff to show you cause I've been crazy busy with work and family. But I did work on some cards for my mom, so I can show you those!! (Yes, Mom, FINALLY!)

My mom has been (ever so patiently) waiting for me to make some more cards for her to send to her "posse." So here's the first batch! The stamps in the first two pictures are from Deadbeat Designs (right here in Salado!), and the third one is made by A Stamp in the Hand. I bought all these just for this project...they were too perfect!! I especially like the saying by Mae West. Don't you?

Sorry, these are super simple, nothing fancy, but I wanted them to be easily mailed without any extra postage. I hope she likes them!

I PROMISE I will be back soon with (hopefully) something fabulous. You see my mojo is lost again. Have you seen it???? Darn thing keeps running away..........

In the pines, in the pines, where the sun never shines...

That's where I am right now! We went for a little mini-vacation for a few days to the piney woods of East Texas. It's ohhhh so pretty this time of year with the dogwoods and azaleas starting to bloom...I love it! I'll try to get some pics for ya.

Welcome to another Saturday Sketch for You to Try! This one (like last week's) was easier than I thought, probably thanks to my punches. I decided to do a quick & easy card today, whatcha think?

See all that white space? And no ribbon, no sparkles....Yes, you have the right blog. *wink* I tried something new, and I really kinda like it! Now, I'm not so sure about my flower squares...I tried to pull off the "inchie" look, but they're a little big...but other than that I really love this card. It took me all of about 30 minutes to make and photograph. Thank goodness, since my sick kiddo woke up just after I finished and cried most of the night. UGH.

Well I'm off to play with the fam...make sure to check out Jen's blog for the sketch and Joanne's sample, and Carole, Amy, and Susan's blogs for their take on this week's sketch. If you upload to SCS, make sure you use the keyword SFYTT so we can see all your creations. Have a great weekend!!

There's a party goin' on right here...a Celebration...

Yes, I know I'm late. Story of my life. Celebrating MFT Day was yesterday. What is that, you ask? Well, on the 20th of each month, we celebrate MFT by uploading a card and/or project using your My Favorite Things stamps to your blog or online gallery. It's just a day to have fun and get busy with any of your MFT stamps!

Thursday (the ACTUAL Celebrating MFT Day) I was home with my boys - a sick one and the other on Spring Break. So Wednesday night was full of medicine and sleeping and coughing and medicine, and...well, you get the idea. Let's just pretend today's the 20th, shall we?

I cased my MFTeaser from earlier in the month and changed the colors to pink and green. Love these colors together! The inspiration came from the Memory Box Sugar Collection...yummy!!

Well, we're headed out of town for the weekend for a tiny bit of R&R, but thanks to Blogger's new ability to schedule posts, you'll be able to see my Sketch for You to Try on Saturday. So don't forget to check back, and have a great Friday!

Just a little Evita to get our day started! Ok, well it's started. How about to keep it going then? It's raining cats & dogs here, how about where you are? I know I shouldn't complain, we've had 80 degree weather for the last few days, but we get spoiled around here!

I had a little stamping time yesterday while Josh was picking up the boys, so I thought I'd do the Technique Challenge over on Splitcoast. My underthehoodybella has been waiting and waiting to see ink, so I inked her up and colored her with Copic markers.

I brought in some Close to Coca (stamped with my Polka Dot Backgrounder from CHF) and Clear Baubles for interest, and stamped the "Hey Sexy!" Sentiment (from MFT) in Chocolate Chip ink on White paper. I love how Julee always adds little strips from her Word Window punch, so I decided to give it a try.

I hope you're having a fabulous Tuesday! Fingers crossed that I'll get time to play the Color Challenge...that'd be the day! *grin*

I wanna live where the green grass grows...watch my corn pop up in rows...

Guess what I've been doing this morning?! Yep, you got it! Yardwork! Yeah, not my favorite thing. We've been working since about 8:30 and it's 11 now! WHEW! At least it looks nicer out there, the yard had been sorely neglected.

Today's another Sketch for You to Try from Jen...this one was easier than I thought it would be. I pulled out this little Monkey from C. C. Designs that I had stamped and colored (during my mojo-less stamping and coloring stint) and after sorting through my pattered paper, decided this Mellow paper from Basic Grey was perfect! This card also works for the Ways to Use it challenge this week, which was for all papers except the card base be patterned paper. I promise, even the solids on this card are from the Mellow 6x6 pad!

We are off to CiCi's for lunch and then probably a nap! *GRIN* Make sure you check out Amy, Carole, & Susan's samples, as well as Jen's and Joanne's on Jen's blog. Have a great Saturday!

Dynamite with a laser beam, guaranteed to blow your mind anytime...

Happy Friday everybody!! Is it just me or is the the looooooooooooooooooooongest week EVER? Maybe it's just me. But time has seemed to just crawl. I'm ready for the weekend!

I have another Verve card to share with you today. I got super stumped earlier in the week where all I could do was stamp images and color them. Even that wasn't turning out right. Usually when that happens I just quit, but I was DETERMINED!! Kind of like with the tag on the fairy card. {insert determined face, usually with tongue sticking out to help}

So I turned to Julee's Mojo Monday sketch challenge for some help. And look! I think it worked!

Ok, so I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I stamped the image from the Thankful Blossoms set with Brilliance Graphite Black on watercolor paper and then colored them with Copic markers. I love the way Copics blend on watercolor paper! My colors were inspired by the Tres Jolie paper by My Mind's Eye, which while trying to link, I have sadly discovered is ALL GONE!! Sad.

My favorite part of this set, though, is this sentiment. I love it because it can be used for so many different types of cards. It could be a thank-you, a congratulations, thinking of you, encouragement, or whatever else you can think of! And yall know I'm a sucker for that scripty font. *wink*

Well that's enough blabbering for one day I think. Have a fabulous and AMAZING weekend!!

Just can't seem to get it right today....

YAY! My fairies are here! If you haven't seen the new chichiboulie line from Stamping Bella...you gotta look. They're so adorable! And she's added 2 more!

So this card took me foreeeeeeeeeevaaaaaaaahhhhh to make. I hemmed and hawwed and moved things and was dead set on having that little hangy tag. That thing almost became the death of me.
Anyone have a secret to using a split ring? Made me cuss and almost give up but dog-gone I wasn't going to let that teensy thing beat me!! Finally (after like 10 minutes of messin with it) I got it. hmph.

The sistahs should know who's gettin' this card...*wink*

I'm going to bed. MWAH!

On the day I fall in love, sky will be a perfect blue...

Ok, so today has to be my least favorite day of the year. Yep, the Monday after Spring Forward. BIG GIANT YUCK. Every year I curse the person who makes us lose an hour...and if I ever find him (it has to be a him, only a man would decide to do something so stupid) he will be very sorry!!

So now that you've heard my rant *wink*, here's my card for this week's MFT Sketch challenge! I decided it was high time I did an "over the top" card...and I'd forgotten how long those take! I also decided to try my hand at Pam's famous Ribbon Blossom. I think I need more practice.

I tried to make it as springy and fun as I could...and yes, I used that darn Imaginisce paper again. Have I mentioned that I love it?

I hope you're having a great Monday...I'm off to grumble some more about Daylight Savings...

Innnnnnnnnn west Philadelphia born and raised, on the playground is where I spend most of my days...

Yesterday started as most normal Saturday, except that I got to have lunch with Jen, Susan, and Lesa!! How fun!! We decided over queso at On the Border (my fave) that we needed to visit Imprints, our LSS. This Elzybells stamp was totally calling my name!!
Sorry...I know the sentiment is wonky. Tried to fix it...but I really didn't want to do the whole thing over. Can you pretend it's straight?

I stamped the Elzybells Easter Chick in Brilliance Graphite Black on Pearlized White paper, then colored with my Copics. The card base measures 3.5" Square (the white part)...that's the part that opens. The 4" black square is just there for fun...I can't decide whether to keep it or not. I must have been agonizing about it because I dreamed that someone emailed me and said not to put rounded corners under square corners. HAHAHA!! Yes, I actually dreamed that. I'm such a nerd.

Well I hope you're having a great Sunday! See ya later!

Stamps: Easter Chick (Elzybells NA)
Paper: Basic Black, Pearlized White (Paper Accents), Pretty in Pink, Imaginiscince for Peeps Sake
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black

Whoooooo are you, HOO HOO, HOO HOO...

It's that time again...for Jen's Sketch for You to Try! This week was an interesting one...and I decided to make it super simple with my Inkadinkado Birds Galore set.

I really love this color combo! Buckaroo Blue is one of my favorites, and I'm so sad it's gone!

This was a strange week in Texas. We had a tornado warning early in the week, then it was in the 80's...then we got snow. Seriously...what is going on??? My kids are soooooo confused.

My card this week is pretty easy to figure out, so I'll spare you the details. Except that it measure 3.5" x 5.5". I wanted it to be a little longer, but it still fits in a regular envie. Aren't I genius?! *wink*

Make sure you check out Carole, Susan, & Amy's projects for this week, and also Joann's guest designer project on Jen's blog. Have a fabulous weekend!!

Stamps: Birds Galore, Amuse Sentiment
Paper: Really Rust, Buckaroo Blue, GP White, Kraft, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Buckaroo Blue, Chocolate Chip, Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: White Taffeta Ribbon, Cappucino Baubles, Marvy Punches, Paisley Embossing Folder

My tongue is filling up my mouth, I think my hair is falling out!

Sorry I'm on a Shel Silverstein kick and switched over to poetry on ya. I'll try not to let it happen again! *wink*

I'm trying the whole Blogger auto-publish thing...we'll see if it works!

So, I've been monkeying. Yes, I mean I've been playing with my CC Designs Monkey Love stamps! These guys are just too cute. I finally got some time to sit down and do Amy's sketch challenges, and they were sooo fun!! To play along you can check out her post here. This is my card for this week's sketch challenge.

I stamped the little monkey guy in Palette Hybrid Noir on Kraft cardstock. Palette ink is my #1 choice for Prismacolor pencils & Odorless mineral spirits. This time I decided to just use the pencils and not blend them. I love love love the way that the lighter colors look on the kraft paper.

Here's two more cards, one using last week's sketch and one simple design just out of my brain. I know, I got stuck on that Tres Jolie paper...sorry! I love that stuff.
Hope you like these!! I had a blast playing with them. I hope you have a fantastic Friday!!

Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eylashes...

Funny thing about Texas. Today there was a WINTER STORM WARNING!!!
Within 30 minutes of the sleet falling, schools were closing and the news and
radio stations were interviewing sand truck drivers. Seriously! I still haven't
seen a single flake at the house, but maybe that will change so we can have
a day off tomorrow! Fingers crossed!!

I just wanted to post something real quick that I found while doing my
afternoon blog reading...Unity Stamps is giving away free stamps!!
WOO HOO!!!

Until their stamp line is released, they're going to hold a weekly give-away
on the blog, HERE.
Check out the post linked above for more info and bonus prize details!

I will be back tomorrow morning ... I've been monkeying around! *wink*

Happy Thursday from *Snowy* Texas!

Cause I'm a redneck woman, I ain't no high class broad...

It's Monday!! No I'm not that excited about the fact that it's Monday. But I love today because it's MFTeaser day! Wahoo!! There are two sets being released by My Favorite Things this Wednesday: Ride 'em Cowgirl and Punch a Bunch. I am having a blast playing with them!! Ok, so on to the pictures.

This card was made using the Ride 'em Cowgirl set. I was inspired by Cindy's Sketch Challenge for this week (you can see it here)...ok...loosely inspired. But inspired nonetheless. *wink* I knew I wanted to put twine in her hand, and when I put the circle down I thought, hey! It would be fun for her to rope that circle!! I hope you like it as much as I do.

The next project is a little band-aid tin from my stash of alterables. I covered it with Basic Grey Two Scoops paper and added lots of ribbon!
The scalloped frame was stamped in Colorbox fluid chalk in Rouge, then I stamped the flowers and sentiment inside. The flowers needed something, so I covered them in Fruit Punch Stickles. Inside is my favorite Easter candy...Cadbury Mini Chocolate eggs. Now...if only I could find someone who liked chocolate...*wink*

I hope you had a great weekend! Make sure you check out the rest of the Design Team's teasers (you can use the keyword MFTDT to search on SCS) and see what they have for you to see today! We'll be having the usual MFT Cocktail Party on Wednesday, March 5th, so make sure you check in at the Member Forum for all the details. Happy Monday!

Kids! What the devil's wrong with these kids today...

A conversation that just happened in my living room:

Cole: What would you do if you were President, Mom?

Me: I don't know. How about you?

Cole: I would give every man in the world, even Dads, hairspray.

Me: The stuff you spray on your head? Or the movie?

Cole: The stuff you spray on your head. Even dads need that.

Me: Oh.

Oh my love will fly to you each night on angels' wings...Godspeed...Sweet Dreams

It's that time again....time for another edition of Jen's Sketch for You to Try. I wasn't sure about this one when I first saw it, but it was relatively easy to work with! I had a baby shower to go to today for childhood friend, so I decided to make this card for her. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

I used my favorite papers and color combo for a baby girl...this paper from My Mind's Eye's Tres Jolie collection is one of my absolute all-time favorites. Love it!! And I thought the sentiment (from the Little Lady set from Papertrey) went perfectly.

The rest is pretty self explanatory...so I'll say bye for now. I hope you're having a fabulous weekend! Make sure you check out Carole, Susan, and a newbie to our sketchy group...welcome Amy, everyone! Also, one of my favorite peeps, Joanne is Jen's guest for the month and will be joining us as well! Go leave them some love!!
