Today's Saturday!!!

You know what that means...it's time for Jen's Sketch for you to try! I {heart} Jen's sketches, and this one was so much fun!!

Before I start blabbing, let me ask you a question. Do you want to hear how I made the card? Or would you rather I just post a pic and say something funny? I've been wondering for a while now whether anyone cares how I made this card. If you're like me, you just scan for the highlights and look at the pictures. Anyway, just wondered.

I am soooo happy that I got to use my new-ish Fancy Pants stamps. I bought them a while back when Julie was in town, but they just saw ink for the first time!! Got 'em at Recollections, but you can also order them here. They've been crying out to be used, and I thought this sketch would be perfect for them.

I stamped the flower image in Palette Hybrid Burnt Umber on Pearlized White cardstock, and then watercolored with a waterbrush & reinkers. Sponging, distressing & a few layers gave it an aged look that I really liked.

I made the background panel by first starting with a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Chocolate Chip, and then cut pieces of the Basic Grey DP to 3 7/8" x 5 1/8". Then I cut the DP corner to corner and used the triangles to piece together the background. Stitched a bit around the edges and down the middle, then added the Pink taffetta ribbon for a little more of a shabby chic look.

The greeting is part of the True Friend set (I love this set!!!), and I inked up the "Thank U" with a Chocolate Chip marker and stamped onto Pretty in Pink cardstock. The edges were sponged to soften them, and then I layered it onto a Chocolate Chip Scalloped circle.

Make sure you visit Carole & Susan for some rockin cards using this sketch! Thanks for visiting me today...and stay tuned cause I have way more to share!

You know me, Shannan, I want it ALL!!! More is more! LOVE your beautiful card! I wish I could do flowers with such flair and style. Then again, if your cyber-home is named Pink Tulle with Feathers and Sequins, having flair and style is a requirement!

Shannon, I am one to look at the card, and then if I have a question I will scroll down to look and what was used, but mostly I can decipher for myself what I would need. But I have to say if I can't I don't hesitate to e-mail the blogger and ask a question. So if you don't mind the questions then go for it. Just my thoughts.

Shannon -- I love when the card details, step-by-step are posted. I can't normally "see" the process if just the recipe is posted at the end -- the more details the better!! As always, TFS! jeanne

Hi Shannan! I like knowing what you did, especially what you used, (stamps, paper, ink, ribbon). I am still new to this, so every bit of info helps! (p.s. I think you are probably funny either way :-)

Awesome!!! About your blog, I think if you want to explain how you created your cards you should and if you don't then don't. Some of mine I do but most are self explainatory so I'll just ramble. You do what you feel is right but I do read it and I LOVE your blog.

Shannon, your card is lovely--paper choices, layout, colors, stamps--all perfect! On explanations, your choice: whatever you have time for. Ü

This is so pretty Shannan. I often just skim through blogs, maybe look for an explanation of anything that may be a bit unusual. But, hey, you've got to have something to talk about. On the other hand, if you have humorous anecdotes to regale us with, go for it.

I love your card -- you are making me want True Friend!! I have this flower set and have not been creative with it - but I'm so inspired by yours. Beautiful!!

This is stunning Shannan. You are sooo good at everything, I swear! I have the FP stamps, but can't seem to use them in a way I like. Sure wish I could stamp at YOUR house and learn a little something from you.
I personally don't need the instructions, and I LOVE your sense of humor (because I don't seem to have one), but I will always visit your blog, regardless of your decision!
Thanks for asking our opinion!

Hi Shannan, This is my first visit to your blog. What a treat it's been! Your cards are absolultely stunning. I'm a scrapbooker who is making a jump into stamping/cards. Being involved in a stamp club enables me to get my feet wet. I have yet to make a card at home by myself. Seeing your work gives me inspiration. You truly have a gift. Thanks for sharing.
