Hi y'all, Happy Tuesday! Thanks for all the love you left last week...I appreciate your support and encouragement! I'm still itching over here...grrrrr...but at least we had a couple of days that were under 100*. Sigh.
So it's Tuesday, which you'll soon find is Sketch Day for Skipping Stones Design! This month we have an awesome guest, who I have had the pleasure of meeting, hugging, and working with on the Verve Team...the fabulous Amy Sheffer! Here's this week's sketch:
Looks easy enough...I have no idea why, but this one threw me for a loop! I decided to do it a little differently (who, me??)...
I think it's kind of fun! All the stamps are from Everyday Blessings (my new favorite set). I stamped the wreath in black Stazon on a die cut from Verve's Classy Label Die, then colored the berries and leaves with white and red Glaze Pens from Sakura. Check it...
Fun, huh? The glaze pens are awesome...they dry very opaque and shiny. Love. Anyway, Then I stamped the large bird in Versamark and embossed it in white on red cardstock. The other papers are Houndstooth and Diagonal Stripes from Crystal Wilkerson's 2011 Spring/Summer Collection. I got a little stuck when it came time for the ribbon...almost left it off! But I decided to add black cardstock instead. What do you think? I'm still not sure...But I think this could be a fun Christmas card, too.
Ok, so all the SSD girls & guests have posted their creations from Amy's awesome sketch, so check them out:

Yeah!!! You made it!! I am so sorry for your health issues right now. I wish I had a magic cure. Your card is great and the Pox have not effected your creative abilities!!! Keep your head up sista!!!
So awesome, Shannan! I always look forward to and love your one-of-a-kind sketch interpretations (yes ... who, you?) And thanks for your sweet words! Hugs!!
Love these colors and that pop of red! I love the black cardstock strip, it just ties everything in so perfectly!
Ooh, the pops of red are just fantastic! Love the patterns.
Stunning card, love how you took the sketch and made it your own. Love all the embossing on it too!
Great card, Shannan! I love these colors!
Beautiful, Shannan - love the red!
Such a beautiful card, Shannan! I love the black, red and white together! And embossing is one of my most favorite techniques!!!
