Be not dismayed, though it seems like the hurt will never end...be still and know the Father will never let you go...

Happy Wednesday, y'all! I hope you are all doing well. We are busy as bees here, and on top of school starting last week, we all came down with a mutant strain of the chicken pox! I call it "Teenage Mutant Kung Fu Chicken Pox" because we have all had chicken pox before, and the kids have had the vaccine, yet we are still afflicted with these giant chicken pox. YUCKO.

So to take my mind off the itching, I decided to get crafty and play along with this month's Diva Dare on the Verve Blog, which is to make an uplifting card and actually send it to someone. You can see all the details HERE.

I also played along with this week's Mojo Monday Sketch:
And here's what I came up with:
I decided on a the square version, and used one of my favorite Plain Janes...Psalm 46:10, which is on sale for $2.10!! Two bucks, people! You can't even get a coffee from Starbucks around here for that price. Here's a closer look:
The finished card measures 4 1/4" square, so it fits into a standard A2 envelope. No extra postage! I stamped the sentiment on kraft cut with the Vintage Oval Die. Then I layered the Sweet Scallop Die in Early Espresso and the Jotted Heart Die in a houndstooth pattern for the other panel. Both houndstooth papers are from Crystal Wilkerson's Spring/Summer 2011 Collection. These are digital papers printed on matte brochure paper in 5x5 squares to reduce the pattern. Love these! The aqua background is embossed with a polka dot embossing folder. The finishing touches were some white gel pen accents on the "I am" part of the verse, as well as a pearl flourish colored with a Copic marker to coordinate.

Well, that's about all she wrote today...I will be back tomorrow for the August Diva Inspirations Blog Hop. I also wanted to remind you that today is the last day of the Anni-VERVE-sary Sale. Check it out!
