Happy Friday, sistahs!! How has your week been? I have had some extra crafty time, so I'm doing great. And hoping to have some more...fingers crossed!
I have my Bellariffic Friday card to show you today...are ya ready? This week's theme was Birthday - super fun! I have such a huge stash of cards, but I never seem to have the right one for the right occasion. Does that happen to you? ACK! So here's my card:
I knew I wanted to use allboxedup-abella for this card since she hadn't seen ink yet. Isn't she cute? She was stamped in Memento Black ink on Bella's Bestest Paper and colored with Copics. The edges were sponged with Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Inks, then I matted the image with Dark Chocolate cardstock and a scalloped square in Always Artichoke. I thought a small stitch would be fun, so I stitched around the edges using a really tiny stitch setting (ha...I'm talking like I know what I'm doing...which is SOOOO not the case!). Next I cut a panel of Pink Pirouette cardstock, embossed it with the Swiss Dots embossing folder, and then sponged the edges and the raised dots with the same Distress Inks as I used on the main image. Then I matted and stitched around the edges.
The base layer is from Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses 6x6 paper pad, cut to 5" square. I sponged, matted, and stitched that as well. I adhered the pink panel to the left side, then wrapped some yummy lace across the base layer. After adhering that to my 5 1/4" square card base, I popped up the main image on dimensionals and added some Distress Stickles in Worn Lipstick, Diamond Stickles, and Glossy Accents. The final touch was the Happy Birthday sentiment from Billboardabella's words stamped in Walnut Stain ink, then cut out with my Circle Nestabilities. Turned out pretty cute, I think!
So...now that I'm done jabbering, do ya wanna know what next week's challenge is?? I'm so happy that I can tell you, so you can get a head start! And you better play, too, because next week is a sketch created by little ole' me! *wink* Here's a peek:
You have until Thursday, February 4th at 5pm EST to email a picture of your project to Emily, so get busy! *wink* I can't wait to see what the Sistahood comes up with!
Speaking of, don't forget to check out Emily's blog for more Birthday creations from the Babes and the Sistahood. Can't wait! Have a fabulous weekend!
