Happy Wednesday, yall! I hope your week is going great so far. I did manage to get my stamp room semi-clean (hey, I can sit and stamp!) so I sat down and made a couple of Bella cards last night. I don't know about you, but I keep hearing all about this Clean and Simple business...so I decided to give it a whirl. I did get 2 cards done, but don't let the "simple" fool you...they still took me a bazillion hours. *sigh* Here's the first one, where I used this week's Color Challenge and CAS Sketch.
Isn't this Funky Clothesline image the cutest? I have had it for quite a while and just now inked it up. I stamped it in Brilliance Graphite Black on Neenah Solar White cardstock, then colored it up with Copic markers. I cut and embossed the image with my Rectangle Nestabilities, then matted it on a black panel with a scalloped bottom edge. The sentiment was stamped in Brilliance Black as well, and the rounded corners were a perfect finishing touch.
For the next card, I tried to keep that Clean and Simple theme going...look! I did pretty good!
This time I used an image of Kinibella that I already had in my stash of colored images. She was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics (yes, AGAIN! I promise I will do some more watercoloring soon, k?). I just gave her a little black mat to sit on, then popped her up onto a Cool Caribbean layer embossed with Swiss Dots embossing folder, and sponged with Taken with Teal around the edges. Whew! For clean and simple that's a long sentence! *grin* Anywho, I tried stamping the sentiment right on the card, but it just didn't show up, so I added a little white banner thingy. The flower was one that didn't make it onto the first card, and I thought it looked cute on this one. Super easy (still took me an hour...HMPH).
Anywho, I gotta sign off now. Don't forget...you still have time to make a card for this week's Bellariffic Friday challenge! You can see it HERE. Have a wonderful day!

I LOVE these clean and simple cards, they sure make your image pop and become the center of attention!
Great cards Shannan, I don't know why they call them simple,it is harder to do "simple elegant" cards cause it has to be perfect in colour, composition and balance or it won't look right. There is nowhere to hide the focal point. It is up front and center.
Yours are perfect.

Ok. That clothesline is THE CUTEST thing ever! :) I almost ordered it (but shipping was going to be over $10! Yikes!) Anywhoo... LOVE your card! It's simply adorable! ;)
they are great cards Shannan, but whenever I do "clean & simple" it takes forevah too & don't you sit there thinking "it needs more"?!
Your creations today are just what I needed to warm me up - our Ottawa, Canada winter just wont quit! Thanks for the southern sunshine that beames from your beautiful cards.
Love your cards Shannan! You made CAS look fabulous!!
They're both Bellarific!!! I too am a fan of CAS, but find it difficult and just as time consuming as a multi-layered card.
These are BOTH totally cute!!!
