I need a place to spend the day, where no one says to go or stay, where I can take my pen and draw the girl I mean to be...

Hey yall! Sorry I've been so quiet. Like most of you, this time of year is busy for me, and it's only going to get busier! I will try to post as much as I can, k?

I mentioned some changes going on, and now I'm able to share details. After the end of December, I will be leaving my full-time job as an outside sales rep (I sell poster making machines, ID badge machines, and laminators to schools). I've been with the company for almost ten years, and I am off to chase a dream! Other than playing more with my kiddos, I will be taking on some new adventures in the paper craft industry, as well as continuing my design work and filling custom orders. Fun stuff!! See...I told you it was nothing bad. *wink* Plus, now I get to go to CHA for work! How great is that?!

So anywho, I hope you can hear my excitement. I have a lot of people who believe in me and encourage me (including yall!), and I wouldn't have been able to go forward without all of you. So this card is for you guys! (oh, and the SCS color challenge for this week...*grin*)

Yes, I finally broke down and ordered Absolutely Fabulous from Stampin' Up! Mostly thanks to Kristina and Dawn. I love this set! I cut out the layers with different sizes of my Labels One Nestabilities dies and inked up the edges. The red layer is embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder as well. Then I stamped the image from Verve's Serenity set in Baja Breeze to set off the sentiment. The final bit was the ribbon...which I may remove...not sure yet. But either way I like how it turned out...nice and simple!

Ok, so to celebrate my newfound freedom from "the man," I'd love to give away some stamps! I found myself with two sets of Sheep Celebrations 2 clear stamp set from Elzybells Art Stamps. Isn't it too cute?

I'll leave this until my Sketch for You to Try post on Saturday, when I'll post the winner. All you have to do is leave me a comment and tell me what your dream job is. Easy! I can't wait to hear what you have to say!

Oh, and a PSA:
Two of my favorite people are giving away blog candy as well! Check out the links below:
Susan Liles aka Susiestampalot
Julee Tilman from Poetic Artistry
Have fun and good luck!

Oh Shannan, that is wonderful. I'm so excited for you and I wish you the best of luck in your new venture! I'm kinda lovin' what I do at the moment. I've been a SAHW for 5 years now and I love taking care of my hubby and being available to help out friends and family anytime the need arises. The only thing that could make it better will be the day that we start a family and I can begin raising our kids. That's definitely something I look forward to. Craft wise, I would love to continue doing design work and hopefully try out and join some more design teams.

Wow~ it has been so long since I have even thought about having a dream job?? Right now I am loving what I do. Staying home and homeschooling my 2 wonderful children. If I were given the chance to really make a dream come true I would love to design stamps. If not for me, to open the door for Hannah's artistic future. That child amazes me every day!!! Thanks for giving us the chance to win these ADORABLE stamps.

I've been a SAHM for the past 10years (my boys just turned 10 yesterday!) and other than totally loving being able to be at home with them, i've had the time to pursue my creative side. I love to paint watercolors, maybe one day all the training will pay off.
Thanks for the chance!

Wow congrats!!! I would SO love to go to CHA ^_~ I think my dream job would be to be a professional organizer. I drive my hubby crazy with all the organizing (and reorganizing) that I do in our home and I never get tired of it! I love seeing a jumble of stuff and trying to figure out how to best get it to look nice, out of the way, yet still accessable. If I can't get my craft mojo going the next thing I do is find stuff to organize around the house. I cannot tell you how many times in a month I redo my crafty stuff and our girls' bedroom, lol!! I've learned to stay away from my hubby's stuff, but that doesn't mean my fingers don't itch to clean it up!! Thanks for a chance at the candy ^_~ And have fun getting ready for the holiday!

I'm one of the lucky ones that already does my dream job! A professional makeup artist! I would love to find some larger scale work in my area (similar to what i did in Los Angeles) though. My next big dream job though is to design my own stamp line! :)

LuAnn said...

Is there really any dream job? I'm sure they all come with their draw backs but honestly, I am doing what I want to do (besides travelling around the world just seeing the sites!!) - I am a nurse. and honestly, there is no greater joy than being around the elderly and seeing the appreciation in their eyes when you have a kind word or two for them when there are so many nurses out there that don't give a damn about the people. I hate when it shows when they are caring for the elderly. how would they feel if that were their Mom or Dad in the nursig home and someone was treating them as if they no longer mattered!!!!

Awesome on your newfound freedom! My dream job is anything papercraft related {obviously} or I would like to be a grocery store cashier just for the day...LOL...always looks so fun!
