Anywho, I told you I was working on my Splitcoast challenges, and I got 2 done tonight! The one I'm showing you now is the Sketch Challenge 163, which is a layout I love. I knew I wanted to use it with this Old Skool Kit from Unity Stamp Company...man was this fun to play with!!
The main image is a super detailed motorcycle image, and it stamps fabulously! I stamped it in Cocoa ink, then used my Stampamajig to overstamp the same image in Versafine Black to create a drop shadow. The brown-ish panel was rubbed with my Distress Tea Stain inkpad, then stamped randomly in Walnut Stain with the "HAWG" stamp and the rose, both from this set. I then sprayed my Silver Memories Mist (a goodie from CHA!) over the top for some bling. Then to create the pumpkin panel, I inked up the flame stamp in pumpkin, then sponged chocolate ink on the "tails" and randomly stamped to create my own patterned paper. All the edges are sponged, and I distressed the pumpkin panel with my Tonic Distressor tool.
The chocolate card base measures 5.5" square, and the sentiment wrapped around is computer generated. I immediately knew I wanted to use this Emerson quote for this card, which reads:
"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
Love it!! My dad's birthday is coming up next month, so I figured this would be a perfect card for him. Whatcha think?
Ok, I'm up waaaaaaaaayyyyyy too late, so that's enough blabbing for now. See ya tomorrow, and thanks for hangin with me!

What a great card, Shannan! My hubby and I JUST sang that song at a benefit! It gives me chills too!
The Prayer is one of my favorites too. I have it on a CD. When I'm driving I'll turn it up and sing along pretending I'm on stage! LOL This card is great! I really need to venture out and try some of the techniques you used. I'm such a scaredy cat! LOL

OK, that just gave me the CHILLS when I read the quote you chose! Out of the hundreds and thousands of quotes out there YOU picked the one I had on the bottom of my email for the 2 LONG YEARS it took to launch UNITY STAMPS!!!! Each and every little piece of correspondence for those years to each and every person I contacted had that VERY QUOTE! I love it when that happens! I LOVE THAT QUOTE! and of COURSE I JUST LOVE THAT CARD! Unbelievable. I really need to get my rear in gear and create with these stamps!
Wishes,
-Angela

This card is over the top awesome Shannan! Love the look that the mist gives it, and the border quote is perfect. Great alignment.
