He sees you when you're sleeping...

Tonight we waited 2 and 1/2 hours to see Santa. I know, it's insane. But there's a reason!!

Last week Cole (my 5 YO) went to see a light show with his babysitter and the other kids she keeps. There was a Santa there, and he came home and told me with great sadness that he didn't get to talk to Santa because "It costes money to talk to Santa, and I didn't have any money." It just broke my heart! I told him that the REAL Santa doesn't cost money, and that one was a faker. I promised to take him to see the REAL Santa, that doesn't cost money.

So tonight we went to see the REAL Santa. He's at Northpark Mall in North Dallas, and he's seriously the real deal. He's a child psycologist who has been Santa for 20 years and does it every year for fun. Real beard, real tummy, the works. He's amazing. And free. AND they let you bring your digital camera and take pics behind the photographer. I've never seen anywhere that will do this!

I told Cole that he could ask Santa if he could pull on his beard to make sure he was the real Santa. But one look at him and Cole said he didn't need to do that, cause he was for real. "I can tell," he said.

The best part? When Santa asked what he wanted for Christmas, he began listing what his baby cousin Keegan wanted first. SWEET BOY!!!!! They had a great time even though we were there FOREVER.............which is all that matters, I guess!

What a sweet story and sweet picture! I still haven't taken the boys to see Santa...and I'm not sure I will. I don't think I want to wait 2 1/2 hours for them to get scared and cry. LOL

Are you kidding? It cost money to see Santa! What is that? These pictures and the story are both great.

Sweet story!! We also see a "real" Santa! So real, in fact, that my *11yo* still believes! She told someone just last week that "our" Santa was "the real one"...gotta love that! Merry Christmas to you and your family and wishes for a happy, healthy new year! :)

Thanks for posting a picture, Shannan -- I know where we'll be going next year, what a great Santa! Love his Santa step-stool, too! I was really disappointed in our photo this year, as it was obviously a fake beard (we'd been fortunate enough to have some great ones in the past). Happy Holidays!

I just saw this santa at my mom's on the refrigerator. And we live in pittsburgh! Her brother in law lives in Dallas and took their baby to sit on this Santa's lap and take her picture! I can't believe I saw the same Santa twice!! Now that's amazing!!

I just saw the link to your blog off the Verve DT listings. :) Enjoyed it so far. When I got to the photo of the kids with Santa I was like -- OHMIGOSH she has to be local because WE've had that Santa here before! I see you're not too far away at all -- I'm in Keller! Just wanted to say "howdy" - love your work!
