I don't know why, but it is sooo super windy here today! Anyway, just sayin.
So I finally ordered some goodies from the new Stampin Up catalog (ok, well not so new, but new-ish about to be old), and they got here on Monday. I decided to play today (instead of prepping for my class tonight...shhhhh), so I made this card for the Color Challenge and Sketch Challenge this week. You can see all the challenges here.
I decided to also make this card using JUST Stampin' Up! supplies. This is always a challenge for me, but this one turned out great, I think!
It's pretty simple. The Vanilla layer in the back is stamped with my Linen BG stamp in a Pretty in Pink/Close to Cocoa mixture. The reason I say that is because I don't think I cleaned the stamp last time, and it's not quite pink. *grin*
I then layered a strip of Pretty in Pink, on which I stamped the large flower image from the True Friend set in Pretty in Pink ink. It needed a bit of something so I distressed the edges a bit and then tied my beloved wide grosgrain around it. BTW...I have figured out how to tie a good knot with this stuff - anybody want a tutorial? Leave me a comment and let me know.
The main image is stamped on Vanilla cardstock, and I colored the stamp with markers. The stem is Old Olive, and the flower is given a faux Rock n Roll look by coloring the entire flower with a Pretty in Pink marker and then just around the edges with Regal Rose. The edges are pierced & sponged with Pink & Rose ink, and the center of the flower is a Rhinestone brad. I layered the image onto a panel of Basic Grey cardstock, which I also used for my card base. The greeting was a little bit of an afterthought, so it's a little crooked. *oops* You still love me though, right??
So...here's my "pure" Stampin' Up! card...what do you think? I hope you love it!
While we're thinking pink, take a peek at what the My Favorite Things Design Team has cooked up here. It's for a great cause...check it out!!
Oh, and I've got a surprise for you....some news coming soon (NO PEYTON, I AM NOT PREGNANT) and some blog candy! See ya soon!

BEAUTIFUL card, Shannan! I LOVE the soft colors. . .just perfect!
Love this pink card.
Great card! I just got this set this week, too, but have yet to use it! And I'd love a tutorial on your knots!
I know what you mean about windy! Man...it is a howling today!
I love your pink card...and YES, I want a tutorial...I can never seem to tie a good knot even with thin ribbon!
And surprises??? I can't WAIT!!! I hope it is good!
Oooh, this is so pretty. It screams "feminine" to me. I like the wide pink ribbon against the paler pink, and the grey really highlights everything well.
So spill the news, will ya? Don't keep us in suspense!
Very Pretty! I think I'm gonna have to CASE this one :-)
LOVE LOVE LOVE this card!!!!!! And I'm definitely interested in a "knot-tying" tutorial!
I love all your work!!!! This card is beautiful!! I hope to CASE it; I love pink.
What? You're NOT pregnant? LOL I would LOVE to see a tutorial on knot tying. I think I am challenged in that area. Your all-SU card is fantastic (and I love the slightly slanted sentiment). Have fun at your class tonight (and let me know how it goes).
Such a pretty card, Shannon!
What a pretty card! Do different from others done with this set - love it!!
Wow! I'm loving the colors in this one! YES! TUTORIAL!
Shannan! Just saw Gina's blog - CONGRATULATIONS! You rock! You so deserve this spotlight! Couldn't have happened to a nicer PSF!
This is gorgeous! I seriously need to get that Linen BG already!!
Love this card! It's funny, I did my challenge card with all SU! stuff too! I guess our SU! stamps were crying out together! :)
I saw Gina's blog -- congrats!!! You SO deserve it!
ETA: Duh, like who wouldn't want a tutorial? Very pretty card.
this is so pretty.
Gorgeous! I love the softness of the pink, the wider ribbon--everything about it!
