I have been waiting and waiting...

To share this card with you all...this is one of those that I was hopping up and down so excited that it turned out just like it was in my head. Greatness!! To quote JanTink...YILM!! (Yes, I love myself!!)

When Julee first showed me the Fancy Florals set, the first thing I saw was a butterfly in the largest flower image. OMG! I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and make it so! Then I got out the paper from my design team kit and lo and behold...there are butterflies on the Gretel paper!!! It was just meant to be. Ok, now I've just lost it.

Anyway, to create the butterfly, I used the largest flower outline and stamped it in Ruby Red Ink on Pearlized Cream cardstock twice. I cut one out and left the other one for the underneath image. I also stamped (using my Stamp a majig) the "body" using one of the flower stems. I used the Out of the Box Technique to leave part of the butterfly over the edge of the main panel. I sponged and sponged it with Guava and Cocoa ink, then distressed and pierced the edges for more of a vintage look. I also pierced his trail & accented it with my Clear Glaze pen. To add some oomph, I layered the main image on Groovy Guava and Ruby Red, and stamped the sentiment from Thoughtful Phrases in the corner.

My Guava card base measures 5 1/4 square, and I layered the Gretel Paper (isn't it yummy??) on a piece of Vanilla Cardstock, and added some Chocolate Chip pieces with brads to accent the layout. The ribbon is May Arts (yummy too!!!) Dark Brown Wrinkled & some kind of yummy red stuff. I used a couple different layers of Mini Pop Dots between my cardstock layers for some emphasis, and last I folded the butterfly and stuck him on with 2 glue dots.

So I hope you enjoy my flash of (what I'd like to think is) brilliance...see...I told you that you were going to love this set!!

Oh my gosh! This is the first thing I thought of too! I even stamped it out on my scratch paper, but didn't make the card. You beat me to it! Oh well, I think yours turned out better than mine would have any way. I love this card with the butterfly trail and the different panels. GORGEOUS!
